Should we built a train linked Laos to Cambodia? I think Cambodian people and Laos people are so close (neighbors) but yet far from each other.... If I want to go to Vientaine, I have to spend 2days and 1 night. By plane is too expensive... Any Solutions?

I am sure there will be a very special relationship and cooperation between Laos and Cambodia. Lao people always respect Combodian monachy because our greatest King Fangum was brought up by the King of Kmer in the past, so we all appreciate that as you may see the making of King Fangum in Vientiane, Laos received great healp from Cambodian architechs as they have more deatials about the Fangum King.
Why not concentrate on upgrading the current roads in Laos? Why worry about linking Laos to Cambodia? What's the point to have a train when the roads are like highways to hell.

That railway link have to wait unless and until Laos can build railway from China to Luang Prabang-Vientiane-Savannakhet and Pakse and from Laos to Vietnam first. Wait a little further for 50-75 years.
You should think that way before asking the question.
Use your brain to figure how much it would cost to build a train track, the train operatoin, the human support. Now think how much people would use it. Then think how much much money will be make from this operation.
Does the profit axceed the operation cost? I do not think so. I don't think it will ever be profitable. A good highway would be a better option.
Yeah ! It may cost about 4.76 million USD per kilometer or you can multiply by 1000 or so the length of the railway from VT to Cambodian border... so think again if you want to built a railway to Cambodia...
We will have trains coming from China, Vietnam, and Thailand, so it is probably only a matter of time until Laos is linked to Cambodia.
Well, all the rail links was built by whom? It's not from Laos Gov. for sure. So we need helps from Cambodia to build the rail ways to Lao for us. But I heard that in Cambodia they also have finacial crisis. How can they help us?
Anyway, we need to wait for the miracle, one day we will make our dreamed comes true. But but but and... BUT!
It' could be nice to have a Train-Track link between the two nations, But the Global financial crisis still going on right now, It's gonna be hard to find an Investors (Firm or Private sectors) out there to Invest on the big project. so for now, I would like to see lao-government spend some money to improve our highway Systems from South all the way up North. especially, around the Vientiane Prefecture, you know what I mean. Don't get me wrong, I do think, they do. But slow moving.
