Vietnam to help Laos build new radio-television station

A project to build a radio-television station in the northern Lao province of Louangphabang got underway on January 8.

The VND57.2 billion project will have a 110m antenna tower, a 5kw TV-transmitter and a 10kw FM transmitter built on an area of 11,628m2.

The funding has been sourced from the Vietnamese government’s non-refundable aid for Lao in the 2006-2010 period.

The project is scheduled to finish in June this year.

Vietnam has previously helped Lao to build a similar station in the southern province of Champasak.

 It will broadcast in Lao as the Pakse tv station, each day but very short local news programs or current affair of Champassack......the rest of the day will show the normal program from Vientiane. All in Lao language of course.

I wonder which piece of land they will get in return? how many vietnames will be settled in Laos? Laos got so much money from selling mineral resources , electricity, log and land concession why not use that money to build it? where those money go? go to leaders wallet?

 Yes , of course vietnamese languahe broadcast because there million of Vietnamese are living in Laos.
