What ever have been happening in Thailand, have been affecting Laos directly and indirectly , economically and politically ? Should Laos beware so Laos will not be caught unprepared with a surprise of what will be happening on our next door neighbour . Almost every things in Laos are made in  Thailand or are coming through Thailand such as medicine, vaccine, gas and food...etc so the price could be going up. Also there are hundred of thousands or may be  millions  people from Laos are working and living in Thailand. What would happen if the red shirt win the election again ? Will the yellow shirt and the Pantamit parties  protest and shut down the airport again ? Will there be an other coup again ? How could the red shirt government fix the economy that the current government dragged the economy down to the deep hole with billions dollars in debt.

 Sorry !!!!!

The Thai people who have Lao blood don't think that they are Laotian.  Indeed, they call themself as Thai Isarn.

I searched over the Laotian and Khmer webboards.  A lot of guys in those webboard always said that more than half of Thai people have Laotian or Khmer blood.  I think it's true, but please dont forget that Laotian and Khmer people always have Thai blood as well.  It's because in the past there were the wars between Thai Laos and Khmer, which made population relocations.  That's why I can say that Laotian and Khmer people today also have Thai blood too.

Again, Laotians and Khmers like to say that Thailand has stolen their cultures.  I think this is nonsense, because in the past all of us was a part of the Ancient Khmer empire.  That's why we have some common cultures in food or dancing.  We can find Plara=Pra Dak=Prahok in these three countries.  Also for Somtum or Tummakhoong, and Cann.

Thanks

Yes, they have been called Thai Isarn but they are Lao ethnicity and Thai citizen. So it doesn't matter what they have been called but the truth , they are Lao and Thai citizen. They eat sticky rice and Padak .

THAKSIN'S JUDGEMENT DAY
On the ropes
By Thanong Khanthong
Panya thiewsangwan
The Nation
Published on January 14, 2010

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva's unannounced meeting with Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda yesterday evening has inflamed speculation about a possible political crisis ahead of fugitive ex-PM Thaksin Shinawatra's "judgement day"

A source claimed Abhisit admitted to Prem the possibility of a House dissolution as coalition allies led by Chart Thai Pattana de-facto leader Banharn Silapa-Archa continued to pile pressure on the ruling Democrat Party over their demands for amendment of the Constitution.

Abhisit and Prem also discussed the growing belligerence of the red-shirt movement, seen as a development that could add to political instability.

According to the source, Prem encouraged Abhisit to carry on during the next difficult phase of his premiership.

Abhisit met Prem at the latter's Si Sao Thewes residence after switching his car at Parliament, apparently to avoid being followed by reporters. It was Prem who had called for the meeting, the source said.

The prime minister met the Privy Council chief once last year when the issue of who should be the new police chief threatened to become politically explosive.

Yesterday's meeting coincided with growing speculation that Thaksin's last-ditch efforts to save his Bt76-billion assets from the prospect of being permanently seized by the state would trigger a new round of political turmoil - perhaps even the worst to date.

Thaksin stands to lose all if the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders rules against

him on February 26 in his assets-seizure case. The Bt76 billion represents the final chunk of his wealth.

Sources claim Thaksin has suffered a series of financial blows that have depleted his funds, contrary to his claim in a recent interview on the Times Online website that he still had some US$100 million (Bt3.31 billion) of his total net worth.

First of all, they say financial and political problems related to his investments in Dubai are preventing him from returning to the emirate.

"If he goes back to Dubai, he'll be nabbed right at the airport," said one source. "His geographical movements have become a big constraint. He's now believed to be staying in Cambodia."

Second, the sources say the UK Treasury has quietly seized some $4 billion believed to belong to Thaksin.

Believing the money came from dubious tax havens, the Treasury orig

inally froze the amount in 2008 in a procedure that would allow the rightful owner came forward to declare ownership, according to the sources. However, the time limit recently expired with no one claiming ownership, leading the Treasury to seize the money outright, the sources say.

A government source also said Thaksin was believed to have borrowed money from a Russian oil company to finance his political comeback.

"He'll be in big trouble with the Russians if he cannot repay that debt," the source said. "But wherever he goes, he likes to have his photo taken with VIPs, to assert his status."

A source close to Thaksin said the ousted leader now was down to between Bt500 billion and Bt1 billion.

As a fugitive on the run, the only way Thaksin can salvage his future is through a political upheaval in Thailand. He is said to be pursuing a three-pronged strategy to reclaim his assets and make a political comeback.

First, his cronies will lobby the Supreme Court in the assets-seizure case, hoping to get at least some of the money back. It is believed the Thaksin camp would be satisfied if the court returned Bt40 billion and ordered seizure of the rest, as the Thaksin empire was worth around that amount before he entered politics.

"This option will not work, because he has no influence over the Supreme Court," one source said.

Second, Thaksin will try to bring down the Abhisit Vejjajiva government. Already, red-shirt protesters have mobilised in a bid to topple the administration.

But a more effective way to remove the Democrat-led government is to drive a wedge between the coalition partners, with the Chart Thai Pattana Party acting as the catalyst.

Sources say the coalition partners may use the constitutional-amendment issue as an excuse to walk away from the government. Chart Thai Pattana, controlled by Banharn, is spearheading the drive, but the Bhum Jai Thai Party, controlled by Newin Chidchob, is believed to be hesitant.

As prime minister, Abhisit holds the upper hand, because he can counter the threat by opting to rule with a minority government if the coalition parties betray him.

Abhisit can run the country with a minority government for several months before calling a snap election, during which time he will still serve as acting prime minister.

Lastly, Thaksin's final game plan is to rely on the red shirts to start rioting again, with an ensuing military reaction in his favour ahead of the Supreme Court's February 26 ruling.

Political sources say the early part of next month will be the most intense period in terms of Thaksin's final battle for survival

Actually, a lot of Thai Isarn in my hometown in Chaiyaphum hates Thaksin and are the yellow shirts.  Moreover, a lot of Thai Isarn in Korat are yellow shirts too.

Thailand calls them as Thai Isarn because Isarn region is a part of Thailand, so they are Kon Thai not Kon Lao.  To unite the country, it is better to call them as Khon Thai Isarn.

Some similar reason alsos happen in Laos by the Lao government using a propaganda policy agaist Thai things eg money, entertainment industry and food.  >>>> Kon Lao has to use Lao currency, Kon Lao has to listen to Lao music.  This is the same thing for the national securty for both Laos and Thais.

In sum, please, Kon Lao, you do not need to interfere with our Thailand internal affair.  Even Laotian people support the red shirts, they red shirts will never think that they are Laotians and never want to join back with Laos.  In my opinion, a lot of red shirts or even yellow shirts in Isarn, they recognize themself as Thai Isarn...... not Lao Isarn.   So, please Laotian people    please stop thinking about the word "Lao Isarn" anymore.  My closed friend for RoiEt (whose ancestor was from Laos) calls himself as "Thai Isarn".  He does not want to be independent of Thailand or does not want to join back with Laos.  He really want to be a part of Thailand, and be happy to be called as Thai.  Moreover, he graduated from Thammasat University in Thailand.  I think no more discrimination in Thailand right now.

A lot of Thai people (Thai Bangkok, Thai Chinese, Thai Lanna) like this Isarn show so much.  Do you still think that the discrimination in Thailand toward Isarn people is now that really violent like it was in the past ?  Actually, the students in this show are from the school in Bangkok.smile

This is only what the poor Thai people and poor Esan people and also the intelligent and well educated  people around Thailand understood  why the Abhisit government is so worry if Thaksin is no longer popular and helpless of financial problems. He is accused of corruption and his crime is only few years sentenced in prison. There are a lot of murderers and terrorists from the southern part of Thailand committed serious crime than corruption.  As the world know almost every Thai prime ministers are all corrupted from the past till today. Thaksin was a successful businessman and a billionaires (US dollars) long before he became Thai prime minister. Before Thaksin became prime minister. Thailand economy was very poor and had a lot of debt. Then Thaksin became prime minister , Thaksin paid all the Thailand debt and Thailand economy was good that meant when Thailand economy was good so do Laos economy. If Thailand has more tourists so do Laos . After the coup , Thailand economy is going from good to worst and only take  more and more loans( money) and Thailand has a lot of debt today.  Some ministers in the Abhisit government committed some crimes which caused Thailand billions of dollars by shutting down the airport that drove away the investors and tourists. So there is no way for the yellow to win in the election so the yellow shirt would do what ever it took to be the power by shutting down the airport, provoked the fight between Cambodia border which made  the local village people were suffering and could not freely farm  without fear of land mines and make a peaceful living. The yellow shirt used the king to damage Thaksin political career. Thaksin is wrongly accused of corruption and not loyal to the king. Abhisit government was not elected by the Thai people but was selected by the dictators and rich upper class and powerful people. Thaksin government was elected by the poor Esan people and poor Thai people who love democracy and hates the racist , rich and upper class dictator people who love to look down at the poor people specially Esan people. Thaksin won the poor Thai and Esan people heart and truly understood the poor Thai people. So he helped the poor by providing the good and affordable health care for the poor and gave the welfare relief fund ( money ) to the poor who  really needed. No Thai prime minister ever could not do that before. Now abhisit  government try to copy but deeply in the heart of the poor Thai people know that was only an act or show of the abhisit government. The red shirt are willing to accept the Abhisit government if he is willing to challenge in the fair election. So let prove to the Thai people and the world and let the people decise and vote for then who ever win will be the government by the people . Abhisit is a selected prime minister by the rich and powerful dictators and the poor Thai people would not accepted him. Thaksin loves the king and loyal to the king and there is no evidences that he corrupted. Thaksin was wrongly accused by the dictators who could never win in the elections. Thaksin earns more money today than he was Thai prime minister . He sold more network to Myanmar, Cambodia and invested in a lot of stock in Singaporean companies and in India companies  and in Russian oil company as well. Thaksin is an intelligent business man and he is capable to help Thailand economy and the poor Thai people. What could Abhisit government do and has been done but took a lot of loans and spending a lot of money and has a lot of debt .

How could the red shirt government fix the economy that the current government dragged the economy down to the deep hole with billions dollars in debt.
................................................................................................

not easy for red shirt government to fix the damage of thai economic, so the red shirts need to take some time as well. because now as you know the world financial crisis affects around the world and especially the export and tourist business in thailand.

so red shirt probably deal with cambodia and open like FREE TRADE..and now Thailand has a good chance to trade with china and people between ASEAN and china can benefit from china-ASEAN freetrade agreement .. but as for Laos just to wait more 5 years.

Let me clear something step by step.

a) Before Thaksin era, Thailand was a middle income country and not that poor. The country's debt to IMF was paid in the early Thaksin era, but actually it is because of the global economic recovery not because of Thaksin.

b) Abisit was selected by most members of Parliament to be the new Prime minister. That's why we can say that his position correctly follow the constitution.

c) Thaksin is a good business man, but his business is kind of monopoly that need a permission from the government. Then, he pid a lot of bribery to the politiicans to get the only permission to do his business like cell phone or satellites. If he had to deal with a compettitive business, he would not accomplish at all.

d) Thaksin has never shown any documents to thepublic to prove that he is innocent. When he was the prime minister, he never given any answers to the investigations by the parliament.

e) Now Thaksin.s VISA was rejected by UK and German. He can not go to China, Japan and USA. He can go only in to Cambodia whose leader, Hun Sen, is not acceptable internationally. Hun Sen is a real Dictator. He corrupt a lot, and Cambodia now has the mose severe corruption problem in the world.

f) Thaksin's corruption cases are now in the supreme court. The court is really fair, and will judge his cases soon. In his era, his family interfere with any government's project for corruption.

g) Normally, loyal Thai people never mention too often about the loyal family, but Thaksin commented too many times about the King through internation mass media. His words was oo aggressive. A loyal Thai people would not do that.

Thai Friends,

Lao PDR is a proud member of the ASEAN and we're adheres to the ASEAN policy of non-interference. Thailand's domestic affairs are solely Thailand's problem. We Lao  can only hope for the best for our dear friend and neighbor on the otherside of the Mekong. We are confident that cool head will prevail in Thailand.

Finance Minister of the Year 2010 - Global and Asia-Pacific

Strong nerves and creative strategies have characterised the best-performing finance ministers over the past 12 months. Here The Banker recognises those whose will and skill have proved outstanding at tackling the immediate effects of the slump while positioning their countries for future growth.

Finance Minister of the Year, Global and Asia-Pacific

Korn Chatikavanij, Thailand

A former JPMorgan banker, Korn Chatikavanij, Thailand's recently appointed finance minister, only entered the political fray in 2005, ascending to the role of Thailand's finance minister in December 2008 at the height of the global financial crisis.

Against a backdrop of ongoing domestic political upheaval, Mr Chatikavanij has safely steered the Thai economy through the worst of the global financial crisis by rolling out a range of vigorous fiscal stimulus measures, amounting to more than $61.2bn, as well as boosting long-term government spending on infrastructure projects.

Despite its robust fiscal response to the crisis, however, Mr Chatikavanij's ministry has succeeded in containing the budget deficit at a forecast 4.6% for 2009, with a projected rapid decline in the deficit starting in 2011. While gross domestic product for 2009 has contracted by about 3.5%, it is due to bounce back, reaching a solid 3.7% growth for 2010, according to the International Monetary Fund.

Although Thailand has enjoyed a speedy return to full health, Mr Chatikavanij remains committed to diversifying the country's economic base. During the past year he has unveiled far-reaching plans to reduce exports as a share of GDP by boosting domestic consumption and increasing funding possibilities for businesses by allowing more foreign ownership of banks, as well as undertaking major domestic capital market reform. Despite his short tenure in office, Mr Chatikavanij has introduced an active and extensive reform programme that has succeeded in putting Thailand's economic policy back on track after several years of economic paralysis and frequent government changes.

But his achievements are not confined to Thailand. A strong believer that south-east Asian nations must work harder to jointly publicise, integrate and market their products and services, Mr Chatikavanij has become a leading spokesperson for south-east Asia as whole, promoting openness and modernisation among the major south-east Asian economies. In a strategic move to capitalise upon the region's growing economic power, Mr Chatikavanij has led efforts to forge greater co-operation among Asian nations, in particular the economies of the Association of South-east Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Among his major achievements in this regard stands the ASEAN electronic trading link-up, unveiled in February 2009, which aims to create a single point of access through which local and foreign investors can trade listed south-east Asian securities cross-border, thereby establishing ASEAN markets as an asset-class. Due to go live in 2010, the initiative serves as a critical foundation for the increased integration of ASEAN capital markets. As such, Mr Chatikavanij has pioneered a vision of south-east Asia as a single economic community that may, in due course, become a major global trading block.

First of all ,  most of parliament members were not elected by the Thai people  and they are selected by the military dictators.  The elected members of the parliament have been over throw by the military dictator. Laos , Uk . Germany , China and Japan...etc  .. will honor and accepted only the current Thai government who is in the power by the international laws and treaty. Abhisit government pressured those governments to do so . There was not any evidences that Thaksin insulted the king but wrongly accused.  Any Thai prime ministers who don't corrupt ? Thaksin was a billionaires and successful long before he became Thai prime minister. Accusing and pointing fingers by the dictators who could never win by the election but only by the coup and with the barrel of the guns that is not accepted by the Thai people and the world . That is not democracy. For the last 60 years there have been 16 coups in Thailand. Covering up , hire and lie and shooting unarm protestors and blocking the news media specially from the international media. So if what you claimed to be true , why doesn't Abhisit let the people decide for themselves and vote for whom the Thai people would like to be their leaders. Any laws and constitution need to be changed then put them in petitions and let the people vote if they are pass and become the laws . Not only let the dictators to rewrite the new constitution by themselves without be approved by the majority of the Thai people. So let make the new election . Why Abhisit is so afraid of the election ? Let make it fair and prove to the Thai people and the world .Then the problems could be easily resolved. Not  only the upper class and rich people voices could be heard  but the poor people as well. Esan and poor Thai people are the second class citizen . Thaksin is the only prime minister who understood those people  and  has won their hearts and minds. Come on let make the new election one and for all and let the Thai people 's vote count . Stop accusing and pointing finger without evidences and stop building fraud evidences . When Thaksin was prime minister there was no laws and regulation of Thaksin wrong doing until after the coup and the yellow shirts rewrote the new constitution without the majority of Thai people approved. To resolve all the problems let make the new election and let  all the Thai people vote. There are more serious crimes such as murder, drug dealers  and terrorists  and economy problems need to be resolved why the Abhisit government is so worried and afraid of the election and the red shirt people and Thaksin. The yellow shirts are trouble makers and good at shutting down the airport and provoking the peace between Cambodia and Thailand  to bring the attention for themselves so they could be in the power. That is cheap trick of propaganda by the dictator who is afraid of losing power by the election.

Very interesting, Lao people still have a lot of relative and family of both sides of Mekong river for thousand of years .Even they are two different nationality and two different citizen they are still the same family, some might have the same last name in both side of Mekong river and speak the same language , eat the same food. Before the world war ll , only Siam and not too long ago Siam changed the name to Thailand . If the French did not come and took Champasak and Luang Prabang and Vientiane so what would you call those people ? Thai Champasak, Thai Luang Prabang and Thai Vientiane? There was no Thai Esan but  Lan Xang  and Siam and  Lanna. Lan Xang and Lanna are same people eat sticky rice and padak and have the same culture and language . Laos does not want Esan back and does not want to interfere with Thailand internal affair just to beware of what are happening around us. Esan does not want to be part of Laos that is understandable because Laos is poor and not well developed because of had been colonized  and the war. If Laos is rich , more developed and stronger that would be different story. If Esan have been mistreated , time will tell either Esan would like to break away and become independent or not that is up to the majority of Esan people , just have to wait and see  and hopefully in the civilize way just like Canada few decades ago the French Canadian would like to break away and they government let the Canadian vote yes nor no to break away and the Canadian vote no .It have been over 200 years that Esan was ruled by Siam and they might already long gone and forget who they really are....Laos could never be able to rule  30 million people of Esan . Laos also never wants to be part of Esan and be ruled by Esan either. But Laos could be good neighbour .

I think you "Dark Angel" does not know much about the variety of etchnicity in only one country.

Look at USA >>> there are Vietnamese American, Chinense American, Hispanic American, European American and Japanese American.  Even they have different blood, they prefer to be called "American".  It is because they are proud to be American.

Look at Thailand >>> We have Chinese Thai, Muslim Thai, Lanna Thai, Esan Thai and Siam Thai.  Personnaly, I am a Chinese Thai, but my closed friend is Esan Thai.  So what !!!!  Friendship is beyond etchnicity.  Also we are proud and willing to be Thai.  When I met my native chinese friends in USA, I told them I am Thai (not Chinese) even my face looks really Chinese.

Look at Lao >>> Do you have only Lao citizens with Lao blood ?   What's up with Lao citizens with Viet blood ?   What would happen if those Lao citizen with Viet blood want to be independent of Lao country ?   What will you do ?

For sure, If Luang Prabang was a part of Thailand, we will call the people in the city as "Thai Luang Prabang".  it is becaue they are a Thai citizen, and we pay respect to their root by adding the word "Luand Prabang" after the word "Thai".  This is certainly about the national security and unity even we have a bit different cultures.

You do not need to use the word "wait and see".  Esan Thais now are willing to call themselves as Thais, and they know that it is not a smart way to be independent of Thailand.  Indeed, USA and UK could be a good example for you to understand.

Sincerely speaking, I can say that now Thailand has 4 region, and they are culturally influenced by different neighbors.
1 Thai Lanna (influenced by Myanmar and Lao)
2 Thai Esan (influenced by Lao and Khmer)
3 Thai Siam (influenced by Khmer and Chinese)
4 Thai southern and Muslim (influenced by Khmer Malay and Indonesia)
Please look at the following clips, and you would see how much we understand what we are and how much we pay respect to the culture transferred from our neighbors and develop it in our Thai style.

I have some questions to ask:

1) Thaksin always say that he is innocent.  But when a lot of people who accuse him of corruption invite him to make a debate in front of the public.  It is strange that Thaksin never be brave to debate with his opponents in the public.  He always say without proof.  I don't understand why ?

2) He got his permission to do his cell phone business from the army chief who made the former coup.  He and his wife suck up that army chief to get the right to be a monopoly in the cell phone business.  There was a rumor about huge bribery.  I don't understand why a lot of people understand that he is so clean. Why ?

3) The red shirts are the one riotting in Bangkok on April last year.  They burned some public buses, killed two people and ruined the ASEAN summit in Pattaya.  If you call the yellow shirt a terrorist, the same word should be used to the red shirts as well.  Agree ?

4)  It seems like you guy (Laotian?) seems to be sensitive to the word "Dictator".  I think the word Dictator (Thai style) can not be compared with the communist in Laos.  Even with the Dictator in Thailand (if it really happen) we still have freedom of speech.  Moreover, our newspaper can investigate the dictator, and the dictator is afraid of people.  If the dictator was not afraidof people, Thailand would be the same as Myanmar.  The Dictator in Thailand is really afraid of killing and injuring people.  I think you shoud have more concern over the communist in Laos more than the dictator in Thailand.  >>> I heard that in Laos a public enterprise has never declared their balance sheet and performences to the public for more than 20 years.  Then, this could be a big room for corruptions.  However, in Thailand, this situation can not happen in any cases.  therefore, you should pay more attention to the communist in your country more than the (possible) Dictator (?) in Thailand.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes of course, the United States the people are coming from every nations in the world love to be there by their own will. But Siam invaded , Cambodia, Malaysia, Lanna and Lan Xang and those people had no choice .

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at Thailand >>> We have Chinese Thai, Muslim Thai, Lanna Thai, Esan Thai and Siam Thai.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is right Thailand have Thai Chinese who are rich and racist and running the country .Thai Esan and Thai Lanna
could easily be part of Thai because of language , culture and religion unlike the Muslim from the southern part of Thailand but if they are mistreated as a second class citizen then any thing could be happened
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at Lao >>> Do you have only Lao citizens with Lao blood ?   What's up with Lao citizens with Viet blood ?   What would happen if those Lao citizen with Viet blood want to be independent of Lao country ?   What will you do ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here 's again of course there are Lao Chinese, Lao Vietnamese, Lao French , Lao American and Lao European..etc
but have to remember Laos did not invaded any one and forced them to be in Laos like Siam have done to Lan Xang and the Cambodia and the Muslim in the south. Only the Thai Chinese who fled China and came to Thailand
for a better living in Thailand when they became rich and look down at the poor local Thai people as a second class citizen that is the problems.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For sure, If Luang Prabang was a part of Thailand, we will call the people in the city as "Thai Luang Prabang".  it is becaue they are a Thai citizen, and we pay respect to their root by adding the word "Luand Prabang" after the word "Thai".  This is certainly about the national security and unity even we have a bit different cultures.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As you said without the French Laos might still be part of Thailand and have to remember justice and fairness that only could united all people but I doubt it .May be it would be better off that the French would never took Laos . So the whole Lan Xang is still united then it would be Siamese nightmare that has to deal with Lan Xang , Lanna and the Muslim and Cambodia.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You do not need to use the word "wait and see".  Esan Thais now are willing to call themselves as Thais, and they know that it is not a smart way to be independent of Thailand.  Indeed, USA and UK could be a good example for you to understand.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Esan are willing to call what ever the central government would like to be call Thailand or Siam or what ever they have no choice but to obey. Yes US and Uk and European Union could be very good for all people in the country to be united and good for mankind if there are good justice system, equal opportunity no second class citizen , no discrimination specially to the poor and minority. Thaksin come from Lana and has been accused that Thaksin is not loyal to the king .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sincerely speaking, I can say that now Thailand has 4 region, and they are culturally influenced by different neighbors.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is you have no choice but have to respect.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It does not matter how many regions if those people are mistreated . Then there would be no peace when there are no justice

I have some questions to ask:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes of course he will when the time is right . He knows and he learned his lesson from the coup and stabling in the black.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) He got his permission to do his cell phone business from the army chief who made the former coup.  He and his wife suck up that army chief to get the right to be a monopoly in the cell phone business.  There was a rumor about huge bribery.  I don't understand why a lot of people understand that he is so clean. Why ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------There are a lot of things that need to be clear and a lot of Thai media not allow to do even try to shutting down the Tv and radio station and even the you tube blocking . There are so many things that is unfair and untold about the fact just as double standard. But soon time will tell and the truth is the truth. Abhisit could not covering up too long .The international media will find the way to find the truth not all the accused are made by thaksin political opponent are the truth. There are any eveidences that he is not Loyal to the king .Because of that sentence that was damaging Thaksin more that any accusing of corruption.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) The red shirts are the one riotting in Bangkok on April last year.  They burned some public buses, killed two people and ruined the ASEAN summit in Pattaya.  If you call the yellow shirt a terrorist, the same word should be used to the red shirts as well.  Agree ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The yellow shirt shutting down the airport and took over the government building which cost billion of dollars in lost and damage and shooting in the public and murdering a lot of innocent people and the Thai media never show and the also blocking the international media from reporting about the military using the live ammunition to shot at the un-arm red shirt protesters...etc...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4)  It seems like you guy (Laotian?) seems to be sensitive to the word "Dictator".

Dear My beloved Angels,

No red shirt people got killed during the riotiing on April last year. However, the red shirts always say that the Abhisit government killed their friends. This is a propaganda to ruin the government.  Till now, the red shirst still have no proof abut that killing.  All educated people ahould not accuse anything without proof.

We have waited for thaksin to debate with his opponents for more than 5 years. When will he be ready to do that ? He would never do becuase he can not argue with the proof by the yellow shirts or his opponents.

It seems pathetic that Laos like you try to concern about the life of Thai Isan ans Thai Lanna in Thailand. Moreover, you often to blame the dictator (if it really happen) in Thailand so many times. I think you should look at yourself first. Look at your life compared to Thai Isan or Thai Lanna. Then you would learn that you dont need to concern about them so much because on average the standard of living of Isan ans Lanna is good. They have an enough access to public health, education, clean water and electricity. Moreover, in Thailand, they have freedom of speech. If the government of Thailand is like the dicataor in Myanmar or a communist, the red shirts will be in prison immediately when they did that riooting for sure. For example, please think about if the same situation by the red shirts happen in Vietnam or China, the red shirts will be killed immediately for their illegal activities for sure. Then this prove that the Thai government is kind and not a dictator.

It's pathetic sometimes that you as a Laotian like to talk about Thai Isan and Thai Lanna. However, Thai Isan and Thai Lanna never mention and concern about you guys so much. You want them to be independent of Thailand, but Thai Isan in my hometown of Chaiyaphum and Korat or even my closed friend form Roi Et have no idea about that being independent of Thailand at all. Please do not think about the future for us. Think about yourself.

What if Thais really concern about what's oing on in Laos. Because in Laos, there is no freedom of speech under the c.mu..st government. They Laos have no right to investigate the go..rnme.t. They can not sue the government about unconstitutional policy implementation like Thais do in Thailand. Oh, what would happen for the Mhong Laos ? How will they be treated in Laos ? Is there a reacist in Laos toward the Hmong ?

If Thaksin is brave enough and a MAN man like Nelson Mandela or Org San Soo Gee, why don't he come back to Thailand anf fight for his innocence ?

Why don't he show up in the supreme court to fight for his reputation ?

Nelson Mandela or Org San Soo Gee never escaped their country ......... They are so brave to fight the dictator in their country.

One more thing,

The yellow shirts are sued by the government about shutting the airport. If they are judged guilty, they have to compensate to the government more than 100 millions baht.

That is no problem at all for Thaksin to show up in court to prove that he is not guilty because he has nothings
to hire and lie but wrongly accused by the dictators who could never win the heart and mind of the poor Thai
people and poor Esan people. Only way that they could be in power is by the coup , by tanks and by the machine
guns. Sure Thaksin ready to prove that he is not guilty so Abhisit ready to find Thaksin guilt in the court of law but
It must be the international court or the world court and international judges not Abhisit or dictators Thai court and
judges who rewrote the news laws and constitutions without have been approved by the majority of the Thai
people. When you want to prosecute someone of breaking the law in the past , you must using the laws at the
time that the crimes  had been committed not after the laws have been rewritten by the dictators after the coup.
If that is only Thaksin is really guilty of corruption his sentence is only few years in the prison not like Nelson
Mandela who loves democracy and freedom and good justice which caused him 30 years of life in Prison.
That is very cheap trick by the dictators who have been trying and failed to assassinate Thaksin many times while

Oh Yeah !!!!

Nelson Mandela is not afraid of 30 years in prison, but Thaksin is really chicken for just 2 years in prison.  This could show how small thaksin's heart is.

You might forget that our current constitution got the majority vote by people.  At the times of the vote for this consitution, the number of Thai people who accept this constitution is more than the number of people who object it.

If you look at the last election in Prachinburi and (a province in Isan, I forget), you maysee that Thaksin is not popular anymore in Isan.  Now the Poom Jai Thai party and Nevin gainsmore pouplarity constantly.  My mother told me that the Isan people would forget Thaksin by the end of this year becuase he policy implementation by Mr Abhisit is working so well [money salary for the elders, debts restructuring for the poor and the traing course for the poor].  Moreover, Nevin and his Poom Jai Thai party has a strong campaing agaist Thaksin.  This situation bases on my hometown in Chiayaphum.

My beloved Dark Angel....  You has never explained me about the political situation in your country Laos. ........ Human Right, racist, discrimination, or corruption.  I think you should pay more attention to your country more than Thailand.   Maybe, the big guys in your country would never listen to what you are trying to tell them.  That's why you are trying to tell Thai people about what we should do or should not do.  So ironic and pathetic.

Oh, what would happen for the Mhong Laos ? How will they be treated in Laos ? Is there a reacist in Laos toward the Hmong ? smilesmilesmile

No red shirt people got killed !   What 's a lie ? covering up , hire and lie through the teeth .
Liars always lie because that is their nature.  Please , don't change the topic and subject and bring Laos economic in
because that is different topic as I said Laos will not interfere of what so ever of the Thailand political internal affair but
we will observe of what are happening around us so we will not be surprised of what are going on around our border.
Matter of fact I do have a lot of families and relatives are Thai citizen and are living in Esan and other side of Mekong river.
Wrongly accused Thaksin not loyal to the king by dictators that is cheap trick .

Shooting at the un-arm protester with live ammunition killing 70 people and more. So what 's liars dictators.

Why don't he show up in the supreme court to fight for his reputation ?

Nelson Mandela or Org San Soo Gee never escaped their country ......... They are so brave to fight the dictator in their country.

That is very cheap trick by the dictators who have been trying and failed to assassinate Thaksin many times while
        he was prime minister.

-- Edited by Dark Angel on Saturday 23rd of January 2010 09:07:18 AM

Who have been trying to assassinate Thaksin even Thaksin is over sea  before and after the coup . So let  put Thaksin
in the world or international court to trial him and proving him guilty . Why have to be the dictators court and judges
who rewrote the new constitution and laws . Since when that the majority of thai people have voted and approved the new
constution and law which were rewritten by the dictators and approved by their own members in the parliamnet who
were not been elected by the Thai people but were selected by the military dictator coup. So let make the new election .
Why the Abhisit government are so afraid of the election if they are good and popular. Why are afriad of the red shirt
in the fair election ? Very simple to resolved all the problem let make the new election . As I said this topic is not about
Lao economy in Laos. I will repeat again Laos will not interfere in Thailand internal affair but observe . As I said that I
have a lot of families and relatives are Thai citizen and are living in Esan and other side of Mekong river.

BoT forecasts 'quality growth' in 2010
Published: 23/01/2010 at 12:00 AM
Newspaper section: Business

The Bank of Thailand is more optimistic about the "quality" of economic growth in this year and 2011 thanks to domestic policy and the better-than-expected recovery in the world economy.

The central bank has maintained its economic growth forecast for this year in a range of 3.3% to 5.5%, after an estimated contraction of 2.7% in 2009.

Paiboon Kittisrikangwan, assistant governor for the Monetary Policy Group, said the economic recovery this year would likely be more broadly based than expected in a forecast released in October.

The basis for the outlook is better-than-expected growth in the manufacturing sector in the last quarter of 2009, with gains in manufacturing of both key products for export, such as hard disk drives and electrical appliances, and domestic products including automobiles, beverages and petrochemicals.

"Consumption, investment and exports are better than earlier forecast," he said. "We expect the overall private sector [performance] and confidence to be better."

The central bank expects economic momentum to continue into 2011. It also announced in the January issue of its Inflation Report a growth forecast of between 2.8% and 4.8% for 2011.

"Although year-on-year growth in 2011 will decline, quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted growth will be 1% in 2011, compared with 0.8% in 2010."

Large expansion in monetary and fiscal policy last year helped to prop up the economy. Improving tourism and a rise in farm prices increased confidence in consumption, he said.

The central bank lowered its inflation forecast to a range of 3-5% this year and 2-4% next year. The drop reflects a government decision to extend its subsidy period for utilities.

Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, is expected to be 1.3% to 2.3% this year and 1.8% to 2.8% in 2011.

"Core inflation could exceed the central bank's target this year, assuming we maintain our policy interest rate," Mr Paiboon said.

The central bank's growth forecast is in line with that of most private research houses, which increased their forecasts to an average of 3.7% this year from 3.5% three months ago.

Mr Paiboon said disruption in the global recovery, delay in Thai government fiscal disbursements, the uncertainty about investment regulations in industrial estates, and politics were the key downside risks.

Pimonwan Mahujchariyawong, assistant managing director of Kasikorn Research Center, said the central bank's new forecast reflected an increase in exports and economic confidence in the last few months of 2009.

"Domestic conditions including fiscal spending and private demand improved. The trend was clearest in December when consumption and overall business conditions improved and oil prices decreased," she added.

Dr Pimonwan said the strength of the US recovery was a key risk in the global economic recovery, while local politics would affect domestic demand.

A lot of luck.....good only for the rich and dictators to be in power still no justice and true democracy in Thailand.
For the last 60 years , there are 16 coups. Thailand is pretend to be democracy but dictatorship system.  Show
the world and give one name which Thai prime minister who did not or do not corrupt. Thaksin was a successful
business man and billionaires long before he became prime minister. Any the evidences that Thaksin insulting the
the king then show the world . A lot of plans and projects are the copy from Thaksin projects such as health care
and the other economy programs as well.

Shooting at the un-arm protester with live ammunition killing 70 people and more. So what 's liars dictators.

Don't diverge the truth.  The riotting by red shirtd on April last year is very bad. The red shirts has a gun and fire bomb to fight with the soldiers.  However, the soldiers only use the PAPER GUNSHOT to threaten the red shirys, and no one was killed.  If they used the real gunshot, they pointed their gun into the sky.  No proof about he killing, only the wrong accusation by the red shirts.  Not a family of the killed people (if it has someone killed) has made a call to the public.  There has been only the wrong accusation by the red shirts.  If the soldiers klled the red shirts, why did the soldiers let the correspondent to follow them and make a VDO record for the news ?

Look at what the re shirts did.  They tries to kill Mr Abhisit.  this is really terrorism.  They closed the main road in Bangkok to make trouble to the public.  They had a fire bomb, they took the public buses and rode the buses to hit the police.  The red shirts are really bad.  Moreover, the red shirts seized the truck carrying GAS to bomb Bangkok. !!!!!!!

Oh Thaksin dont be chicken.  Thailand justice system is fair enough.  Please come to show up in the supreme court......

Very easy to dress as the red shirt and carry arm and provoked and pretend to hurt the Abhisit so that would the execute
for the dictators army to murder the red shirts that is cheap trick once again. If the red shirt really want to kill Abhisit they
would not used rocks and stone , they would used the bombs. The yellow shirt carried guns and shot in the plublic and
mudered the innocent people by mistake and no charged against the yellow shirt.

Your videos do not prove any thing that Thaksin is not loyal to the king. what 's have to do with the visa as it had been known that UK, Laos , Japan , Germany....etc will honor only the current government who is in the power in the capital as the internal law and treaty . So it doesn't  mean that Thaksin is guilty or not loyal to the king but have been wrongly accused and pressure the other nations to do so. If the upcoming election the red shirt win . Will the yellow shirt accept the red shirt government or they will shut down the government parliament and the airport again or will the military over throw the red shirt again or take over by the coup again??? How does Thaksin trust the dictators court and judges just watch this video ? So why don't trial Thaksin in the world court or by international court and judges and try to prove Thaksin guilty if they could?

Come on !!! guys

Gile Unpakorn is the one who wants to destroy the monarchy. He believes in communism and a lot of faculties at Thammasat and Chulalongkorn Universities know his political belief. Moreover, he has joined hands with Thaksin as a member of Red Siam.

Read the following news...... Thaksin accused inappropriately the KINGof knowing and permitting the coup. I think that normally a loyal Thai people will not mention this topic about the KING. A loyal Thai people does not do this thing. That's why a lot of Thais wanting to know if he is loyal to the KING or not. Moreover, my mother mentioned that Thaksin should have not mentioned this about the KING.

Moreover, Thaksin has never stopped his people from accusing the KING. This make a lot of Thais people think that he would also have the same attitude as his people's agaist the King.

Ok man,

In the next month, there will be another case of his corruption to be judged in the supreme court.  For sure the red shirts will prepare to riot again.  I hope that the LAW of KARMA will work well.  Anyone who do the badthing will get the bad thing in return.

The red shirts and Thaksin has never showed any proof of their innocence.  I feel so funny when someone say that Thaksin is comparable to Ong SAN SOO GEE.  She is the real one.  with no power, no money, she still fight and does not escape to anywhere else.  I pay respect to her, and hope that someday Thaksin would learn how to be a MAN man.
