(KPL) A Lao anti-drug leader has called on the international community to back the nation?s 2009-13 programme on drug control in an effort to turn the vision of a drug-free ASEAN into reality by 2015.
Kou Chansima, Vice Chairman of the Lao National Committee for Drug Control, made the call on 21 February at a reception for international delegates attending a meeting held by the Working Group on Illicit Drug Control in Savannakhet, Laos, on February 15-18.
He also sought stronger support from the entire nation in the fight against drugs and related crimes, which, he said, are a threat to socio-economic development not only in Laos but also in the world as a whole.
In an effort to step up the fight, the Lao Sub-working Group on Crime held a meeting on February 19 with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Public Security, the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and relevant agencies.
The meeting focused on joint measures against illicit drug trafficking and other serious crimes, including a draft action plan and necessary steps to enact the national law on drug control.

NO! Laos did just enough to keep the foreign aid's coming. They surely do not want to get rid of it entirely after all it's source of steady income for them.

No one can hack in to the Swizz bank accounts and no one can force the Swiss Government to reveal the identifies of bank account holders and their contents. Er...may be on the US Government. That's the reason why unscrupulous people have Swiss bank accounts.

No secret at all that the CIA and the KGB and the FBI and the homeland security and the secret service could not do only the laws that would stop them from doing. There are more leak to the media from the CIA and the FBI than the KGB . They know every penny even with the help of the Switzerland bank or any bank that they would like to know but they would not say because it is against the laws. Then they give the information to the media which person they would like to tell about the corruption and where the monies are coming from. So you could figure it out that there are no secret.
