Should the government create jobs for those people ?  What would those people do when they are back in Laos and no job ? It is not the government 's problem so they must be on their own ? What has the government have to do to resolve this problem?

Abolutely nothing! Just stick the head into the sand and hopefully the problem will go away by itself.

Yeah ! like the ostrich, when scared always put their head in the hole of tree or in earth then pull it back from hole only when every thing's OK Hehe !
no, it's rather too easy... well let's punish them for breaking the immigration law by putting them in a concentration camp and fine them, for those who have no money have to work in a public work : cleaning the roads for 2 weeks, using the money from the fining of the first group to feed the second one and then dismiss them to their home town. for the job to give them..as we have not any heavy industry ...some might come to VT as construction worker and some as beggers...

Please lets be sensitive and more understanding about this people, if they have a choice they wouldn't have done this. If you take your time and think about this, they were the victim of labor's negligence in their own country! it would be a slap in their face to fine or punish them for the fault that's not theirs because their government do not have jobs for this poor people. Why blame the victim? no

the gov can't do anything to help

except reform the policy with foreign enterprises in Laos

for example" the factories of china and vietnam must hire lao worker and ban those viet and chinese to work in laos as worker. but this policy won't act so soon.and it's hard to deal the enterprises who already set up and the enterprise probably lose the profits.

Clean a thump and suck it. During the Kingdom of Laos, many Thai people came to work at Laos. Now it is the opposite.evileye

Who would want to be away from their loved ones, work long hours on minimum pay, endure the scorn and mockery and be treated as second class citizen?

I agree, those migrant workers should be treated like victims. They were victims in their own land for not being given the opportunity to find a decent living so they can live a decent life and provide a promise of better future for their children. They were victimized twice in the country (Thailand), where they thought can provide them with the opportunity to achieve these dreams, that now threatens to take away the little hope for a decent living that they have momentarily enjoyed, despite the sacrifices.

Now they are being asked to return back to their homeland... back to zero.

What kind of life awaits them back home?

If only there will be a change in policy where job opportunities are given to the local people instead of the migrants from the big brothers.
