We can out from the poverty list countries in anytime. The reason is that when we are not listed as the underdeveloped countries, we will not get aids from other countries. That's why we pretend to be poor, but actually we are quite rich.

with the sale of gold , copper,silver and other mining products + Powers exports from dams, power plant from lignite coal... in ten years with the growth of 6 % per annum will be 60 % in ten years so the PDG of laos will reach without difficulty not less than $ 4000 per capita. if the PPP is not less than 4000 , we can consider ourselve as no longer poor, not rich but most of lao families could afford to have one or two motorcycles all over the country. But if, in the contrary the mekong river and its tributaries continue to dry down, the drought occurs then my economical calculation will be wrong. If all graduated able to write in english this well you do not need to worry about your future..... by the way we do not live in slum only in thailand.

That is right at this time Laos doesn't have too many cities of slum yet if we are not careful soon when the cities are growing like Bangkok and Hanoi , of course Laos will face the same problems . So just keep our cities beautiful with nature and clean without pollution.

It took Singapore and south Korea only few decades to transform from poverty and poor to the most modern and rich countries. The Lao government promise the Lao people since 1975 that by the year 2020 Laos will be out of poverty . So if the government could deliver their promises in the next 10 years that would be excellent. So hundred of thousand people from Laos don't have to go to work in Thailand and very body will have job and good living and good education and good health care and every body will have equal opportunity as the government said 3 decades ago. So let wait and see only 10 years from now when most of Laotian will be employed and have good income and well educated.

So Laos can't compare to China with 6.5 million people . Laos could be better than China with all the natural resource that Laos has.
Laos that the country doesn't have to be very rich country as China and India but the Lao people don't have to be as poor as the Chinese and the Indian.

i think after the all factories are closed in china due to no one wants to be worker, so 90 % manufacturing will move and invest in South east asia and Laos will become a cheap labor market as china in the next 40 years. and then we will really get out of poverty.. but not 2020 as the gov planed.

I just don't see any job for young Laotian after graduated from the university specially from China. It is just a waste of time to study there are no job and no future in Laos but farmers and street labours . Not even that some of those people have to go to Thailand search for jobs. yes you are right.. i am the one who graduated from china and no job, that s why i have to work in china for a while and earn some $$, i really wanted to serve the country, forget about it.... china company in laos knows lao labour is low. so they pay lao labour very low and lower than china.. chinese are smart, they think only profit .
