The inflation rate rose from 4.2 percent in January to 5 percent last month, the peak record for this year. According to the website of the Bank of the Lao PDR, the kip currency rate commenced appreciation early this year by 0.87 per cent (from 4.2 per cent) in March and by 0.98 percent in June.
