BANGKOK, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Thailand will send its ambassador back to Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Tuesday, nine months after the two countries recalled ambassadors from each other, said Thai foreign minister Monday.

Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya was quoted by The Nation online as saying that Prasart Prasartwinitchai, the ambassador to Cambodia, will travel to Phnom Penh Tuesday to resume his work.

The announcement was made after Thaksin Shinawatra, the self- exiled former premier of Thailand, had resigned as the economics adviser of Cambodia.

In early November last year, the Cambodian and Thai governments recalled their ambassadors to each other as the bilateral relation got tense after Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen appointed Thaksin as the economic adviser.

According to Bangkok Post online, earlier Monday Thailand's Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva told reporters that Thailand is willing to reinstate its ambassador if Cambodia really canceled Thaksin's advisor position.

"(If the revocation of Thaksin's position happens), my government will focus on the reinstating of the ambassador," he said.
