How much does it cost on average to have a wedding in vientiane?

How much does it cost to have a wedding in VTE?
This is to rent the hall that include foods and entertainment with invitations of up to 500 people.
My friend is getting married and he told me he needs $10,000 for the wedding.
I just think it's too high.
What do you think?

i think for me it was 3000$ for 250 persons... 4 years ago...

Oh!! man you never know The wedding in lao they do like king or hollywood star you won't believe it untill you see it!!

Yes, you need more then that. they usually do it a very nice and most expensive restaurant or the 5 star hotel where everyone attends would have to mandatory wear blazers, tucks for the mens and for the women's, gowns and dresses real formal

Sound like it. In the end, they have nothing to show for.
He doesn't want it big at all, but the girl wanted to show all her friend that she marries a rich guy from USA.

what style? few hundred dollars to buy small cow and you can invite all your villagers.. it won't cost a lot and the place you lend from school and plus the table.

500 guests? Wow, thats gonna be like having all the people in a small town. LOL. But it sounds like fun although $10,000 feels like a bit of an exageration. Congratulations are in order - and good luck.

It's done. More than 500 guests showed up at the Mekong restaurant and it was quite expensive. Close to $12000 in expenses that include live band, foods and drinks and ofcourse the party hall itself.
I am studying to see if it's feasible to buy a party place to rent out in VTE, that's might be some nice profit. Not just for wedding, but also other party and business events.

Dear Friends,

I think the cost of living and the cost of wedding in Vientiane, Laos is very expensive as i think $ 10.000.00 is very cheap if including with everything for the wedding event
I guest more $ 15.000.00 is ok.

It's not the countryside here, but in VTE. Cost goes up everywhere now.
