In any normal country, the person or people responsible for cancelling the original agreement with Thai-Lao Lignite would have been publicized and fired from their jobs. This is Laos. This country is no different from its neighbor to the west that lost arbitraiton to a German construction firm then refused to pay.

The problem in the Lao government that no one seems to honor their loan and obey the law that were written by their own hands. So how you could become part of the world community when you don't honor of your commitment. Lao government doesn't understand how to trade and trust and credit .
That is the reason why Laos is the least development and the poorest country. The same old people who know how to use the credit card but don't know to make a payment or pay off the debt. Stupid don't know how to build credit and trade.
So what is the whole story here ? Why Laos got fine ?

I think you're just jealous that Laos is working very closely with China. Vietnamese seem to feel offended like most Viet Nationalist. Vietnamese shouldn't worry about Laos future since it's not you're worried. You should worried about China taking over Vietnam one day.

That was not how the North Vietnam won the war . No body defeated the American military but the American people who demonstrated in America to stop the war in Vietnam . Vietnam fought to unite Vietnam and did not do any thing to United States like the Japanese bombed the Pearl harbor or Hitler declared way against the US or Osama Ben Ladden had done on 9/11 / 2001. So the American people didn't have the stomach to see the innocent Vietnamese women and children were killed by the US soldiers.
Chinese people are different from the American people . So Chinese military could do what they want regardless of the Chinese like it or not. So Vietnam is better to watch out that China might invade Vietnam and send 100 of millions Han Chinese to occupy Vietnam.

So you got it , Lao people lost the war and Kaisone and his party won the war .So Lao people must accepted the defeat to be ruled by the group of people who won the war 36 years ago. That is why the people have no power but some group of people who won the war are ruling the country with the help of the Vietnamese army. So Lao people must accept the defeat and live with it.
