I was ripped off over $600 for Air Asia ticket that was bought from S And M Air Booking near Nam Phou, and opposite of Lao Bank near Lao Plaza Hotel in Vientiane.  S&M told me they only charged about $5 on top of the actual cost of Air Asia ticket.  I called Air Airasia customer service to see the actual cost of the ticket and I was surprised to see I was diffinately scammed off over $600!!!  Remember don't be lazy to go to the slow but safe internet cafe to do the booking yourself!

Lao people enjoy ripping off foreigners? You make me laugh there. Maybe are you talking about yourself or people of your own country?? Lao people are among the most honest. Just read comments from westerners who visited Laos and other countries in Asia. Unless maybe you consider some of those who control this type of business in Vientine and other cities as "Khon Lao".

When you are in Laos, chances that you will be cheated are higher than meeting a real honest person. Ok ?

If you are not local or maybe even Lao people from countryside, they tend to get ripped by those Tuk-tuk drivers.

Do you know how many days it takes just to apply for passport if you don't pay money to those @ssholes who are in charge?

wow I can't believe some posters are so blind to see the overcharge trick in Laos!!!  probably refusing to accept the truth of what's happening in Laos.  Some tourists will buy online but some go through agents because most of the internet cafe computers do not have good firewall and virus protection.
