OH DAMN! you know when it comes to this subject I have to jump on it, why? just because I have these tattoos on me too, I got mind when I went to Afganistan when September 11th broke out, I got it done at the laos Buddhist Temple in Illinois,  my dad agree for me to get it done so I had 2 monks doin mind, they were Mumbling some Words when they were hittin it on with the shark teeth. After that they had my dad poke these gold needles in my right arm.  They said it was supposed to protect me from war and only your own father can poke it in your arms, luckily when I landed there, all I had to do was guard the place for 8 month.  The one on my elbow is to help me if i'm lost, the one on my arm is to protect me from when I hide, and the other one is to help me guide me to a safe place.....an to make it work you cannot bring any picture of a female with you when you're at war or you cannot eat any caterpillars or snakes, which I wouldn't eat anyways..........overall I beleive the Laos tattoo has more means to it,  they say if no one beleive it than don't comment about it but the American tattoo has nice graphics.  Beside that I'll stick to the Laotian style.

This kind of ritual sounded familiar! especially the one with golden needle, because my dad have it and he can not eat snake, eel, ຜັກຂະ, and one more vegetable i don't remember the name of it. The one that was given to my dad was performed by a very old monk in Laos. It was known that either only 2 or 3 people can have this golden needle, because the needle will enter the recipient's body not by cutting, puncturing, or stabbing , but rather from the monk's meditation. My dad was so amazed how the golden needles got in his arm right after the monk placed the needles on my dad's palm then the monk put his hand on my dsd's palm and he meditates then blow on that area three times after the monk open his hand the golden needles had disappear from my dad palm. The next day , my dad can actually feel it in his arm and other part of his body. The reason the monk can't give to who ever want it , because #1 the needle won't enter a person's body # once it's in the body and if your can't fallow what ever the rules or certain restrictions that the monk advice you, you'll either can die from it or the needles will come out from your body by piercing through your eyes. My dad went with his friend and the needle would not enter his friend body at all, the monk tried for two days. Does this sound familiar to anyone in here?

He can eat any thing else except of the few that I've mentioned earlier, and yes, those were the real golden needles and once in a while you can actually see the shape of it under his skin, but my dad didn't have to be tattoo though.

The vegetable that he can't eat is in the melon family, people normally make soup out of it, that's why we never eat it. Oh, my bad he can eat eel just not the snake!

the Monks didn't really tell me anything about eating types of Veggie, they just said not to eat certain kinds of reptile.  I remember they said do not eat snakes, caterpillar, and since we were in a kill zone, they said not to kill anyone unless it was for protection and from a General.  I did not end up killing anyone or anything, all I did was guard, the needle slip out of my lower wrist about 2 month into it and I just kept it in my wallet.  My dad was the person who stuck the needles in me, both on my right arm, but the monks were the one who gave me the tattoos.......................someone asked if it's a real golden needle? it looks like a broken end of a toothpick but the monks said it had Buddhist words puncture inside of it, and yes it's gold.

The one that you have sounds like is only ( ຍັນ ) not sure what its call in English, the one that's inside my dad's arms and body was about little over 1" inch long as thin as a tooth pick.   When ever he goes through the metal detector at the air port it would go off.
The way that yours came out from your arm I kinda  have a feeling you were having a hard time taking care of it ( ຮັກສາບໍ່ໄດ້ ) one of the example once you have the golden needle in your body, first and foremost besides restricted from certain food is not to go where under the woman's garments if she hangs dry her garments especially her under wear this is what I can remember from my dad. It might be that different needle have different rules, the one about woman stuff is pretty standard if you will. The monk who gave it to my dad was ( ພະລືສື ) I'm not sure if there's English word for it and he doesn't live in the temple, but was he use to be Buddhist monk in the temple after that he stayed in the jungle for his deep meditation.

The ones I had related to that woman garment thing but just in a different way.  Mind was more like " you can't carry any womans pictures not even my moms, gramma or girfriend, because it can cause destractions.  You can't step over any dead body's in war, it protect from bullets or metals, there were more sayings to it but this is what I had remember.  I remember when I got the military and the cops pulled me over for recklace driving, and he ask me why I have so many gang symbols on my body and I told him, they are not gang signs they protect me from war.  He asked me what does it protect me from and I told him "Bullets" than said when I see someone with a gun, I just run.  The man laugh and just gave me a warning but no tickets.  Sorry I had to bring that up but if I told them the truth, they would'nt beleive me anyways..........ight talk to ya later! peace!

I can only speak for the kind that my dad have, the one that he has is okay, because he's already a family man , but as long as he doesn't  sit or stand lower than a woman and walk under the clothes line of woman's garments then it won't t be as effective for him. Anyway, as I have mentioned before about the one that my dad have. Those needles won't even enter your body if they weren't  meant for you.
Meaning you have too many obstacle which make it impossible for you to take good care of it.

There was an incident,
Back in Laos, as a child I remember of seeing the most horrifying thing happened to my chauffeur, it was like he was possessed by a demon or something. One day, all of the sudden I hear a boom bang noise came out from his bedroom  my other chauffeur ran to the bedroom to see what's going on?  As soon as he opens the door he got out so quickly with his face looked so scary like someone had just witness a horrible scene, he said to me got get your grandpa! my grandpa, my great aunt, and my mom went in the room and I heard the chauffeur roaring sound came out from the room, I got curious so I went to see what was that all about?    It looks like a tornado had just gone through a bedroom and the chauffeur was on the wall like spider man, it was so unbelievable! his face was red and his eyes were blood shut my grandpa told him to come down, the chauffeur responded so rudely, "ກູບໍ່ລົງ" and so my grandpa and the other chauffeur try to pull him down from the wall and they couldn't, because he over came both of them with his strength, right away my grandpa knew what was going on , so he told my great aunt to go ແຕ່ງຂັນ after she came with khan and gave it to my grandpa, he lit up the candles and placed in khan then held it above his head and preys in Buddha's scripture I can only understand some of the words "please forgive those who have tress pass your path" after that my grandpa placed the khan on Buddha's shrine above the chauffeur's bed then my grandpa calmly told the chauffeur to come down from the wall, and so he did and he was very calm after that he told my grandpa someone had massed with his protection  ມີຄົນງວນຂອງຮັ່ກສາຂອງຂະນ້ອຍ. It turns out that my friend and I were playing in his room and we were jumping on his bed and it was either one or  both of us might of have jumped on his pillow or by his head board area. My play room was connected to his bedroom and his other door led to my play room and it was left open so me and my friend got bored and decided that we wanted to jump on the bed, it was the biggest mistake we've made!

wow that is kinda strange but the same time it's beleiveable event that happened to you, I had three things happen to me but I don't know if it was my from my tattoos or needles, once my leg cramp up an I felt a hand pull me up when I was in swim qualification in San Diego, second time I was really sick like really really sick because it was -12 degree outside and the damn drill instructor spray water on me while doing pushs and shooting fake rounds next to my ear, the next day I felt better and didn't have to take any medicine.  The third time 9 of us was running and all of a sudden no one was chasing us, than a mine bomb blew about 50 feet in front of me and the only thing that happen to me was my nose bleed, beside that just weird dreams.............................and no to KHONTHAKHAK I did not pick up any Afganistian chicks, because we weren't allow to talk to them or pick up any toys or phones found on the road or stop at any shop, but they did have a starbucks coffee there an the ladies that worked there spoke perfect English!........

This is what my dad's chauffeur told me, even you have the protection inside your body is not like what you see in movies where all this bullet will miss you left and right, that's not how it works. It depends on the skill  or the form of meditations that monk have achieved, sometimes even with a protection inside your body you can still get hit by bullets and only get bruised. The one that my dad have are very sacred according to his chauffeur who was my dad's body guard before he became his chauffeur and has been with him in one of the ground battle he witnessed an incident a grenade had hit my dad and dropped to the ground, but didn't exploded.
