I am so proud of being Laotian. Lao people have many improvements, such as: educations, sport, entertainment. Lao students are studying in oversea and inside country. All of them are main human resource for Laos. They are strongly to help our country. Furthermore the sport sector, they are trying the best to bring the honor to our country. Not only that, the entertainment group including news, advertisement, singer, actors, etc. are providing the requirement to support lao people, furthermore to other country to know more about lao culture and country.
Thank you to all Lao people to encourage their children to have good education. Thank you to current lao government to support the education to many lao students.
The government has done well for this few years, keep trying der lao government. Please the government try more for the people who live in rural area, they should have good education too.

i am so really pround to be laotian , i'm lao student studying in japan , i'm thinking about how to develop lao my hometown,, but i want our goverment to look after us when we back lao we seem like nothing cause they think we came from not communist country like vietnam or china but i wanna tell lao goverment if you wanna make your hometown better communist country is not problem ...... from kon lao tii huk pateth lao and huk kon lao
Yes, I support you all. I am also one of student who is studying in oversea where is not communist either. However, I also want to be one of lao human resource, what I can do, what I can help..., I will do. According to my opinion, I want all lao students, who is studying in other countries and who used to study outsilde country but do not go back to Laos, go back to Laos after you graduated. I believe that you will have enough money to live in Laos, however, it is not as much as you have got. Please reconsider...der all those students. This is the time to develope our country and our country need us. Remember, our parents, family, and relative are living in Laos. They are waiting for the time we come back to warmness arm of family again.
Some one want to live in better country, they try to find the way to leave laos. They are not selfish but they are looking for thier destination. Frankly, they earn money for themselves and their family in oversea easier than in laos. They can send money to support thier family too. In the other hand, first some one just want to study in outside country where is very popular after he/she study there and then he/she does not want to come back to their own country again. Because they have been to civilize country for few year then they feel convenience. Finally, they decided to live there and they love to be there.
We are Lao, Now our country have a peace, and most of Lao people enjoy living in peace. Of course We are developing our country. and our country will be strong.
On the problem of Gen. VangPao To all lao teenagers and all lao people, please have strong commitment, do not listen anything only one side. We should find out the real problem. The most important is we should not forget that is standing of Laos.
I think, that is correct. Whatever, we must have strong commitment. We should not care too much about those problems. We just act like we did not hear anything but we still protect our country. We do not want to have topple lao country again. It is only loss, nothing to gain. So, we just develop what we have to be better.

That is good discussion but less people share idea. for me, I want the government improve education in rurole area. The people in that region need teachers but no one want to be the teacher in that area exacpt the local people. What can we do lah? anyone can solve this problem in this one or two years? Thanks
The Party and the government control the country, they have the resources but they cannot solve these issues - here it is, the source of the problems. Need new group of younger people with fresher ideas and more open minded. I hope my comment is not too negative.
What should we encourage lao girl not following new feshion " Bong Dang" ? Because that is not our traditional and it is not good looking, in my mind. I need you all to encourage those girl with otherways which is better way... Thank you.
I like lao girl because they love their traditional way of life. I like when they were SIN to temple, working place, party. They look very lovely and pretty. When I see them I can recognize that they are Lao girl. Accordingly, I would like to encourage you "Lao girl" please love your culture, love your own style. That is already good. I think, Lao ancesteor give you the lovely custom for their grandddd daughter.
Yes, I do agree with all above have said. However, I would like urge Lao people who are in good position or good circumstance look on Lao poor people. I don't know whether they know about this or just pretend not to know. Poor people coming from countryside work in companies in Vientaine, take textile companies for example. We all know that they work very hard, but they get salary not suitable with their spending time. Although these companies are owned by foreigners, they pay very low compared to another countries. Therefore, for these money they can only survive day by day and forget to save some amount to send to their parents. Actually, they have no other choice like people in jail, like or not you have to. They cannot strike according to Lao law. There is labour union in these companies, but never defends these poor labours. On top of that this labour union, howvwer, forces these poor people even more harder. Why? Because the bosses of these companies pay well this labour union, although they (labour union) just sit there. I wonder wether Lao goverment sees this issue. Why don't they set minimum wage for our workers al least just a half of workers in Thailand? Why do they be so afraid of foreigners? How do they understand about exploitation? Best wishes.
That is very good suggestion. If we can improve on the week point then the local labour will not want to work in Thailand or other country. So that, the risk of illegal labour will be reduced. They will work savely and legally.

As we all know that our country soon will become a big battery of ASEAN. This seems to be good news for all of us Lao people in a way. Wow!!! that's great. However, if we look in depth and more careful, we will feel nothing interesting at least for now. Why? The answer is very simple: so far what do we gain from that? On top of that, my family now pays more and more for electricity compared with the time when we paid 10 years ago, although now the number of power dam have increased. Ironically, unlike in other countries, in our country they sell electricity to Lao people almost the same price which they sell to Thailand. In Russia they sell gas to their own people only one third of the price which they sell to the EU countries. Even better in Turmenistan, they give gas to their own people for free. Knowing about this, I always keep asking myself why not our goverment learn a little bit from them, at least, an half price which is sold to Thailand. Lao people will feel that they are the owners of this country because they can enjoy what their country has. Best wishes
I would like to introduce the way to let the world getting to know Laos, that is education, sport and entertainment
1. Education: if we have alot of professors or famous lao person (high knowledge).... We can create something new and neccessary for society 2. Sport: if we are strong in the sport field, we are often the winner.... 3. Entertainment: if we have good song, good music vedio (traditional way), movie....
it takes a lot of of big " IF ". And each of the " if " that you mentioned is easier said than done. To bring out the best from people in any field the country has to have the right incentives ( read $$$ ). That's the bottom line and that's what human nature is made of. Green grass always attracts buffalos. It's my own opinion, of course.
I feel certain person talked like as saying in Lao language "Nam Thuam Thong", which means no concrete points. Like this some of our leaders love to talk and have talked for 32 years, and see our country hardly moves anywhere. Like "Now we are all fighting for a better life. we know that it is not easy, but we believe that we will suceed one day".Anyway, I do understand that you love our country. But before you can do anything you would need a good environment and so on.That's the human nature as mentioned earlier. The big question is why and how.
My comment may be " Num Thuam Thong", but I never ashame like one who are not confident in what you are saying. indeed, I feel happy when I wrote that comment, because that is come my true feeling. I am not a government official, but I can see what do to develop Lao country.
And i am not dreamer, development in one country is not magic and not the same with other countries.
If you do not understand " how", try to look everything with your real eyes and do not lie your self and at the same time do not dream. then you will understand the real meaning of development.
I believe poor countries always have many problems, in doing things because of lack of Capital or money, have a look at annual budget. Let take an example a person above mentioned about his family has to pay more for electricity bill than 10 years ago, although more Hydro Plants are on now, but you have to remember those Power plant built by the money of the World Bank or other countries so LAO has to pay back gradually, you can have it free. So other issues are the same, but at least you have electricity for many rural areas which do not have in the past. Until you pay back the money you borrow....then that day the power plant belong to LAO, not straight away yet. Country like AUSTRALIA is a rich country but people still have to pay electricity more expensive now, they even talk about Friendly environment way in the future for Power Plants, that's mean people have to pay more tax....so the government has the money to do things which not harmful for the Planet, not extreme weather, no rain, or too much rain....because all kind of CHEMICAL destroyed the OZONE...so we all have problems, rich countries pay more tax, poor countries lack of money to do things...the best way is never stop to find a way to improve people's life of your country. I believe LAO will get help from friendly countries in any kind of issues if LAO's government asked, there will be countries will come and help.
