I think the hotel spoils the view. It should be kept traditional, and no building built above tree level.

that's the price any country has to pay in order to bring in progress and new development. Laos needs more big and tall buildings just to show the world that the country is " there ". We cannot keep riding on the buffalo's back and tell the world that laos is now as developed as any other developed countries. Anyway, there are two sides of a coin and you just have to pick one side and let the other team have the other one. So we can have the best from both worlds...

I dont know what view you talking about???the hotel is on island of mekong river, only view is blocked is thailand side?????

When did you last go to Vientiane,? the hotel is NOT on an island.

So, the word " Done" in Lao language is not mean island or land that buidup on river???
