I engaged in a long agument with some chinese idiots today about our Laotian beauty. He makes it sound like Laos has no beautiful woman and if there is any decent looking Lao gilr, he assumed that there is a Chinese blood in her. I personally despise slanted eye Chinese and I would never date Chinese because my kids will have slanted eyes. Again, this is my preference and I don't mind to date our Lao girl.

Miss Luang Prabang 2007 is like in any other year. They don't have to be the prettiest girls in town. They were selected as Nag Sangkhan for the year only, just for tradition and for ceremonies. Don't jump to the conclusion that Miss Sankhan must bee the prettiest girl in Laung Prabang. She is selected for the Lao New Year ceremonies only, not for beauty pageant.

For misinformed tourists and viewers, Miss Lao New Year in Luang Prabang each year is selected not by beauty, but by volunteersim, traditions and customs. Nang Sangkhan selection doesn't based on beauty pageant, it is based on volunteerism and tradition. For those who ridicule Luang Prabang
's Nang Sangkhan, it is a great diservice to the residents of Luang Prabang
and it is disinformation abot the true tradition and custom of Luang Prabang city.

For those who misunderstood and ridiculed Nang Sangkhan Luang Prabang, I want to point out that Nang Sangkhan of Luang Prabang each year is selected based on volunteerism and other factors, not for the beauty pageant. So, do not misunderstand about the beauty of Nang Sangkhan of Luang Prabang since it is not the beauty pageant but the tradition and base on volunteerism.

it isn't fair to compair Miss Universe competitors to Miss Luang Prabang who volunteers to participate in the New Year celebretions. They do the jobs for
the the sake of the city to follow the traditions and customs of Luang Prabang, They don't get pay or awards in doing so and it is not a beauty contest. It is the duty of the girls of Luang Prabang to keep the traditions of Lao New Year going every year.

Our Luang Prabang are not for Miss Universe competition. They volunteer to be in the Nang Sangkhan procession for free and for the tradition of the town during the Lao New Year celebrations. Don't compare the Nang Sangkhan to the Miss Universe pageant. You are ridiculing Lao girls of Luang Prabang if you do it.

i think the lao pageant needs to be more modernized. i think it would be nice if they still used the same fabric used in "sinh" for dresses, but cut in different styles, and if they wore their hair different ways, and if they didn't have ladyboys doing their makeup for them.
