Wrong, Saffron, they do go to Tarkbart every morning, it it a kind of donation, I`m myself lao of origin but it is sometime difficult to understand lao mentality... compare a temple to a primary school and you would understand why laos is still what it is today... Regards.

The SUBJECT mention MONEY donation. I have no doubt they donate food or other kind of donation. You are right on that they should put same support for the school as they did with the temple.

Chiip, you should convert to Christian and donate 5% of your income to Church, how do you like that. Temple is a way of life in Laos. Merit making doesn't have to involve money.
It does not look night at all to Pourk Falang Dung Mo when they see Lao people give or offer food to the monks at Tard Luang festival. And that's why Other people from other religion always asked why Lao people like to offerring food to the monks instead of give some of the food from the monks to poor Lao people. I think it's time to change what do you guy think?
no need to convert to christian, I already am christian, I never said that I don`t want you to donate to monks... I donnated food , clothes to poor people, not necessarily to church and of course in the same time I donnated some money to the buddhist pagoda of our village too, in this topic, I`d like all lao people to give more importance to primary school than we used to do...it is all, I respect other relegions like buddhist, muslim, hindo, sikh and others even if I don`t pratice it ... please don`t be fanatic of religion...it might bring you to confrontation, war, and to hate each other that we can see in midleast, india-pakistan, thai with its paktai....
listen !!!!, infact, lao people donate money, food.... to temples or monks they expected to get the money, or food back for next life after they die then reborn, and to get blessing from god for thier present times. not to help any others at all. so poor people they give or donate little. they asked for blessing from god to get a better life. ( this is the good thing). but the rich people they give or donate larger amount, they asked for a big blessing to be richer and expected to get them back for next life.( this is not a good thing) because they should use some of the money to help poor people, or poor kids school instead of use the whole money or food to temple or monks. would you think about this ?
cheer, Male eagle !! we`ll be happier after donnating food or clothes to poor kids and no matter of any return for the next life ! thanks ! and regards !
The food and money donate to temple benefits both the temple and some poor kids. The money is reserved for renovation, or other necessity around the temple, or perhaps expansion. Food are offered to hungry kids. I always got stuffs to eat at the temple when I was a kid. Every time there is "boon" at the temple, and there will always "takbaht", and when there is "takbaht", there are foods. Speaking from experience here....
stupid why they put money on temple why tyhey don`t put money to school for kid future that better monks all over 90% they are lazy that why they go to temple free food free live people respect ,I am telling I don`t spend money to temple I spend money to school when they ask for donation
