VietNamNet Bridge – Samane Viyakhet, politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee, said he hoped the Communist Party of Viet Nam Electronic Newspaper will help Laos set up a news website for the LPRP Central Committee’s Information and Training Commission.

Samane Viyakhet made the request while receiving a delegation from the Communist Party of Viet Nam Electronic Newspaper, led by Dao Duy Quat, Vice Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Information and Training Commission and editor-in-chief of the Communist Party of Viet Nam Electronic Newspaper, on a visit to Laos from December 11-15.

The Laos senior official highly valued the Vietnamese delegation’s experience in ideological and cultural work, especially online information, it shared with Laos during visit.

During the visit, the delegation had a working session with the Information and Training Commission of the LPRP Central Committee, visited Pasason newspaper, the national radio and the national television of Laos.

The Vietnamese delegation also worked with the Phanhdouangchit Vongsa, member of the LPRP Central Committee and head of the Information and Training of the Central Committee. The two sides agreed to promote and expand cooperation in the ideological area.

I wonder if there's one thing Laos can do it on her own without asking for foreign help ?

Its all about words. Here they say Laos asked for "help" while they could have said "train" the lao people to make a website.

Everything have to be formal. I don't understand why they put it in the paper. Must be a slow news day.

My question would be, where are the government sponsored students that were sent oversea college and trained in IT and web stuff.

Here is even better idea, cut few more tree and sell them. Use that money to pay for 1 or maybe 2 Lao IT consultant from America, France, or Australia. We have so many of them.

It is "money talk". You need to pay about 60-80$ per year to have your own website server. yawn

Yes, The webmaster. And the name "Guru" says it all. Lao can do it. But I guess
those politburo members have no trust on those english speaking graduates.
Save lao pride...wink

Yes, this question seems to be simple but it makes think a lot. It's true that some of our people like to think that just for free or it is great if they can help us for free. They are really good to us. It seems really normal on the one hand.

But on the other hand, I and you quite often hear that there is no free lunch on earth. True or not people can tell in different words, no doubt.

To me, I am really afraid of such a free lunch. I would choose mutually benefit relation. That would make me happier than I am in debt to someone forever.

In this case, I would ask how much you will charge from me and in what quality you can do? Then I will compare with other constructors with the same quality. If you can do for me cheaper, then I will choose you as my partner and thank you is included.

Why do I afraid of the free lunch. Yes, I fear that later I cannot say to that people when they ask something from me. What would happen if they want to take something or someone that I really love.
Yes, if they are my parents, my brothers and sisters, of course I would have nothing to fear. They would always like to give hand to support me, although I don't want either.  I am afraid that I would get used to ask them for help forever.

Four year ago one of members of Japanese parliament talked to Vientiane Times, when he visit Laos. He said that Lao people should have worked harder. Even to build toilets in the villages, some of Lao people still wanted fund from foreign countries.

Yes, I laughed, but my tear felt into my heard "nam ta tok nai". We are healthy and but we cannot do even the easy things, to say nothing of the difficult things. It is odd enough that IT men are a lot in Laos who are able to do a good website, however, they are being ignored to perform their capability.

If we will act like this who on earth will respect us, when you even don't respect yourself.

Nobody on earth will respect the beggar whose body is perfect. That really makes me think on this question. We are embarrassing to other nation, to say the least.

Regards,
..........
