I don't have nothing against Ananda.  I think he is a good actor and very talented.
He doesn't speak probably because he was raised in Thailand.  Just like any other borned in other country don't speak in their native country.  Like my son, he is natural borned in USA and he do not speak Laotian either.  Is not the fact that he don't want to...but where is raised.  I am sure Ananda do not forget where he is from.  His mom is Laotian and all the Laotian out there should support him.  And support him for his work.  Keep up with the good work Ananda.  There always will be positive and negative thought every where around you....but stay good within your heart.

atlanta, USA

I thought the movie had a Thai reporter going to Luang Phrabang. Wouldn't be fitting for a Thai speaker to play a Thai role?

Your response is totally different than what Laos Girl posted.

She saying we should support Lao actor even if he doesn't speak Lao.
And you are saying Thai speaker should play a Thai role.
Tottally different topic.

Why everyone make such a big deal about Ananda does not speak Lao, I am sorry I myself was born in USA, I have a hard time speak Lao, I understand my parents when they talk lao to me, but honestly I can not speak Lao verygood back to them. I don't think any of Lao born in overseas would speak 100% Lao.

Thanks "Atlanta" for supporting Ananda, and please count me in I am with you.

Don't worry. It is kind of culture differences and people of the two countries want to see those differences. For examle, Bangkokian, Isan, etc... want to listen the real Lao accent, and at the same time, Lao people want to hear that accent. I heard they gonna have a subtitle for this movie in both Lao, Thai and English smile
