The saying " Laos is green and abundance with natural resources and forest" will be just a history for next Lao generation. This is another example. Trucks carrying logs from Khammouane Province in Laos to Ha Tinh Province in Vietnam.
logs, not log. Loggings are illegal long time ago. But, logging are still going on in Khammuane Province. Ask the big general there whether it is true or not.
Yes, I do agree with the above mentioned comment that there is no any indication that the log is illegal. I think that the person who posted this topic also doesn't know either, just saw the photo from Internet and posted.
What I want to add more is that I am really surprised or don't understand why someone is really keen to post or edit something that discredits Lao reputation without ground that makes people think Laos is really bad country.
I wonder whether they got some money from their boses to do this job. If that's a truth, I don't mind that would be really great, but all they posted or edited are groundless, without any link or references.

Or you think that Lao don't have problem with illegal logging?

you should thanks a person who post this picture telling us what going on over there. Why you don't mind?? why you support to chop down our trees? i think you are not Lao.
It is what you think groundless? who need any link?? the picture here tell everything
Yes, it is logging, indeed. The question is whether it is illegal or legal.
On the one hand, as we know Lao government still gives a permision to logging what is called quota logging.
On the other hand, there is no indication of when they were cut. It could be the case that they have cut these wood from Nam Theun 2 power dam before the water will flood. Instead of leaving the trees there under water, it would be better to cut and sell.
I am little surprised by someone who is really clever. He doesn't need any references, any grounds. Just looking on the pictures, he can know it is illegal.
Please grow your brain, don't just guess if you want to be educated person, otherwise you would be no more than rubbish collector.
For me the photo showing the trucks stopped at the border check point. They (the trucks) must stop for paper works so likely they all have documents to prove the logs are legal. The trees are also the same size not very big trees.
