well.. to answer your question...  i don't know which name is currently popular in laos..   and to answer your other question.. NO!! i wouldn't change my name, i like it the way my parents/grandparents gave me... and i will not tell you what it is either.. hahhahahhahhahabiggrin

First time of  hearing that. But PHET is a Lao name. So, I know there would be variation of it.

i think the most popular Lao name for girl are nong cherry, nong strawberry, nong dollar, nong tatiib, and nong e un nee
but for boy are :  buk hum, buk khouay, buk ta, buk wain 500 etc..
