Its because American society is violent. The Media is pathetic and produces loads of violent movies. As an American, I am ashamed at the violent stigma this country has. In fact, it isn't a stigma, its a fact.

There is no single thing to blame. You cannot blame guns, colored minorities, or anything. Its the way that this society accepts violence and the portrayal of killing in this society.

Watch a movie produced in America. A character will plain out kill another one without any regret. When these types of desensitization came about in this country, I do not know.

I believe a scuffle is nothing too bad. I once had a fight. We shook hands afterwards, it was nothing serious.

Nowadays the police in America take it seriously, issueing assault charged to kids that fight, BOTH kids that fight.

But the kids also deserve it. Kids are so violent in America now.

Its a never ending cycle. I honestly want out, that is why I wish for a career abroad.

You know why they do that. It is because they do not want to get sue or be punish for not doing their job according to the law/ordinance. It is like the report I heard about a 6 years old was charged for sexual harrasment for hit a little girl butt at the playground. Teacher don't want to get sue and school does not want to get sue so they big a big deal out of little thing.

Everywhere it is going to be the same. It is just not being reported in the news. Majority of the time I just listen to my CD/MP3 and watch DVD. I hardly watch TV or listen to radio. Most of my news is from the web. I choose what I want to read about and not wait for it like on TV and radio. Just turn it off.

There should be a real American Revolution to take care of things. Social and Political.

A couple of things to keep in mind....

America also has a free and open media free to publish any and everything the paying public wants. You want to know about a school shooting, they will make every one a big news event.

About fights. It is right for the police to arrest those involved. What if they were two adults? Violence and asault are not things for a society to condone. Often fights end up getting people killed. If two people can't work out their differnences without fighting perhaps they need to be locked up.
