(KPL) Vietnamese Deputy PM Nguyen Sinh Hung has approved the proposal of the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) group to invest in four hydro-power plant projects in Laos .
According to VNA, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-Lao Cooperation Subcommittee Truong Van Doan has contacted the Lao government requesting favorable conditions for the EVN to construct the Nậmét 1, Nậmét 2, Nậmét 2 and Nậmcông 2 plants.
The four hydro-power projects will have the capacities of 140MW, 170MW, 110MW and 60MW, respectively.
EVN together with their domestic partners are also investing in the Sêkamản 3 (250MW capacity) and Sêkamản 1 hydro-power projects in Laos.

This is stupid! Why dont they build dams in there own f'ing country instead of messing up the Lao environment and displacing thousands of people. Hydro power cost too much, why dont they build some sort of renewable energy instead. Wind turbines, solar panels, etc... Do what the rest of the f'ing world are doing; I mean Western countries and not China. I bet Lao will build these dam for them because the Gov. is a piece of ****!
