The survey in 158 areas of northern Laos and found 117 new sites of mineral deposits rich enough, they believe, in silver, gold, copper, iron, zinc and tin ore, to warrant further exploration and investment. Laos has already approved more than 200 mining projects for Lao and foreign companies, including the Sepone copper-gold project by Oxiana Resouces and Phou Bia gold project by Pan Australian Resources.
Yes, it is probably safe to say that Laos is not poor. There are lots of mineral deposits but still in under ground. No wonder they said we are the beggars siting on the big piece of gold.

Now, thanks to our new government policy investments on mineral resources are going on the way in hoping that by 2020 Laos would get out from the list of poor countries.
The most important things that Lao authorities need to do are: 1. develop it friendly to environment, 2. good measures or law to reasonably deal with investors, 3. good mining management is also needed to get rid from any corruption, ... ...
I do hope that Laos soon would not be called underdevopped any more and Lao people would only enjoy their life.
Wait!! What are you guys talking about here? Is it digging underground for gold? If so, we dont need other poeple to come and take our stuffs away. We need to leave them alone, those are not belong to an individual, that is laos heritage. Keep them away from other poeple who is not belonging the group.
