Cable TV in Vientiane
Permalink

I will be relocating in Vientiane in a few months time. I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if the satellite dish which I see on several photos posted in this site can receive TV broadcast from the Philippines, and what other popular TV channels it can receive , like National Geographic, Discovery, CNN, BBC and the likes. Thanks a lot for any info that can be shared here.

Don't worry, my house used chinese cable TV, the cheapest one, but still can receive the channel such as National Geographic, Discovery, CNN, BBC and also MTV Asia.

If you want to receive channels from the Philippines, better consult with the sattellite companies in Vientiane, dozen of companies out there and the price is varied depends on your demands. biggrin

Pardon my ignorance, I'm just wondering what would be the effects of flooding in this case. By the way, it doesn't really make sense paying $50.00 a month for a non chinese made cable tv, as compared to a chinese made cable @$20.00 per year.
