Thongsai,

don't you know that even the war is ended for 30 years already, but million of unexploded bombs are still scatter all around the country and it will take 100 years from now to clean those bombs. Imagine if all around your house are full of bombs, can you develop your land ?

In addition, many smart Lao people immigrant to America, and leave Laos without helping her. I know they concern about the development of Laos, but I don't think just only their voice can help, but it needs their action.

It is not fair to blame only Lao government and Lao people living in Laos. We need to blame those who left war in Laos too

that is a sad video. as far as i know, Laos is the singular country that has received the most number of bombs (2 million tons? if i remember it right) during WW2. in fact one of the reasons why it takes your enigmatic Plain of Jars forever to become a heritage site is because many of these bombs remain unrecovered or unexploded... so it will be hazardous to a lot of people. BUT in time, Plain of Jars will get the UNESCO distinction just as Laung Prabang did. Your country is naturally beautiful you don't need skyscrapers and state of the art buildings to be called beautiful.

For Laos still faces the poverty after more than 33 years of the end of the war, don't just blame the leftover bombies that are still around some parts of the country and don't just blame the Lao Nok for not helping to solve the problem.
Blame the government, too for not doing enough to fight the poverty, very poor heallth facilities, dirt roads and infrastructures and the dire economy. Don't blame other people. Laos would still be poor even in the next 20 years.

Was i actually blaming anyone from my previous post? funny, i didn't think so. i was stating a fact why your Plain of Jars hasn't yet been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, by giving the very same reason stated by the UN body. It was not a "blame". It was a METAPHOR, for Pete's sake. Here is me spelling it out: Laos has to hurdle a lot of physical and historical impediments, that much is clear as the blue sky! History does, if you aren't aware, help shape a country.

With whatever shape LAOS is today is somehow moulded by history, and that is NOT "blaming"; that is a FACT! I am not here to point fingers on who is to blame why Laos is still dirt poor, but i have great faith in the kindness and resilience of the Lao people. is that so bad? In fact, I am very hopeful that Laos will overcome all these, much more hopeful than you will ever be (and I quote you, "Laos would still be poor even in the next 20 years").

You, my dear, need to go down your high horse and leave all your negativity behind. For it is obviously YOU who is passing the blame on everyone but yourself!

Blame the government? You cannot tell me who to blame. I will blame whoever I want to WHEN I want to. Go blame them yourself! Go knock yourself out! LOL

This reminded me of Black in America blaming White Americans for all their problem.

When you stop pointing fingers about your problems and start doing something about it, you be suprise how much it can be accomplished.

Khonthakek,

Yes! at last you said it. This is the fact that the world educated people already acknowledge it.

We must make it clear and loud to all lao people and find the way out. It is really ashame for us.

I have met alot of foreigners who asked me about VietLao friendship, I tried to denied it, but I felt ashame inside as a lao son.

do you know where the poverty comes from ? = laziness, fear of hard work, fear to be tired, don`t want to study, self indulgence...i don`t blame anyone except government,we have to pay monthly tax , where goes the tax ? to the construction of the infra structure, hospitals, school, official salaries... but i still have to pay fee for a care in hospital, I`m covered with mud when going and coming from work...

Yes, let Lao blame and throw bad words at Lao. I was talking about Vietnam invasion, infact no bad comment for invader but for thier brother hood.

It seem to me that invader truly are their boss. So keep it on, you will have some more dollar to spend and more wine to drink and more girls to ..... And let Lao stay behind the world forever.

I never heard the Lao government blame any Lao who
can only complain but never help to do anything.
if you don't do any help you should not blame the Lao
government, because they are trying on their way, if you think
you are smarter just prove it by action not just speaking around.
Lao nation is like to complain and jeulous each other alot (not all), when
someone is trying to do something news, the first thing that you will do
,is complain. why don't you just try to help and make it better on
your way?
the Lao government never complain any lao nork and never force anyone to help,
but if Lao person who lives in out country want to help their mother-land
they are all welcome. if you don't want to help, that's ok.
Lao blame Lao, Lao complain Lao, Lao jeulous Lao, will the Lao country can
develop fastly?
if you are not agree with their idea, you can give some ideas for them to make
it better not just blame and complain.

Yeah I agree with you. Lao oversee do not know the reall economic situation in their home country. They are now living in a developed country and they look down on their homeland. Better take some action than just saying

its not important who posted this VDO and what is for, when i read
comment from lao people who live in out country, i really wonder
why like to look down eatch other and can only complain. Lao-nai
when heard that Lao person is doing well and become famous we
feel happy whith them. because the government never talk
and teach us to hate the same nation even we still have low-education.
Lao new generation who born after  1975 is more active now, and I
believe when the correct time comes Lao will go far. the new generation
they don't care about any war, we learn from the past not stuck in the
        past.
