(KPL) Fuel prices in Vientiane Capital has been adjusted again due to the surge in oil price on the world market has increased from US$ 132 per barrel in June to US$ 135 in July, concerning with matter it affected to the oil importing countries especially Laos.
The Domestic Commerce Department, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce announced Wednesday that the oil price in each gas station in Vientiane Capital has amended to increase.
The oil price in Vientiane increased from 11, 620 kip to 11,880 kip of regular benzene per litre while diesel increased from 11, 640 kip to 11,970 kip per liter. The surge in oil price is being directory impacted to all motorists and transport, and higher cost of living.
Now the government urged all people to save the oil and people should think before making decision to buy car.
Laos is a least developed country depends on importing oil amid many development projects mushroomed rapidly. For example hydroelectricity, the road infrastructure and agriculture development projects can be seen obviously throughout country so Laos will import more oil for supporting the development projects in the country. However Laos is still trade deficit with neighbouring country due to a high volume of oil import.
