Lao Airline needs more pilots

(KPL) The state-run enterprise Lao Airline has an ambition to buy Boeing and Airbus planes with 150 seats to support the future growth in the tourism industry.

Many challenges in the competing market have forced the Lao Airline to acquire new modern planes to attract customers to be loyal to the services of the Lao Airline. At the same time Lao Airline disclosed yesterday that it has not yet had any plan to buy Boeing and Airbus planes but confirmed to buy two more new French-made ATR planes in 2010.

Boeing and Airbus are one of planes that have most modern and luxurious in the world therefore it is common that we will have high ambition to buy them for serving in both foreign and domestic countries.

But we have many conditions as we no have readiness to buy them due to expensive oil price and less financial source, said Mr Somsamai Visounnalath, Deputy General Director of Lao Airline.

He said that if we decided to buy them in current condition we might faced on unexpected problems such as high oil-hiking price, fluctuation of currency, inflation and the lack of human resources.

All were mentioned above as obstacles would be considered carefully. He explained that now Lao Airline has not only faced on plane’s modernization and luxuriousness but also faced the lack of human resources in particularly pilot.
As it can be seen generally that Lao Airline has currently declared vacancy jobs through Lao newspapers to select people who have interesting for being pilot. There are currently more than 20 pilots that have been served in the Lao Aviation Industry, but it is not enough to meet the demand available due to the Lao aviation industry has been growth dramatically.Sine 2007 Lao Airline has already sent 13 Lao students to study in China and Thailand, involved with pilot.

We'd better lure other contries to make a  direct flight to Laos. For example, Singapore, Japan, Korea, India, America, etc...

yes!!!! i have to agreee Lao Airlines do need more Lao Pilots... NOT vietnamese pilot please...

few years ago, when Lao Airline rented the Airbus from France.  Durning that time there are no Lao Pilot qualify to fly the new Airbus plane.  I was flying back to Laos on that new Airbus.  I was totally shocked to hear this vietnamese captain on speakers and plus I cant understand no more than 3 words that he was saying...  what a shame.. having lao airline but vietnamese pilots..
