– The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide a package loan of 9 billion kips (roughly 1.1 million USD) to help Laos increase its capacity in public financial management.
An agreement to this effect was signed by Lao Deputy Minister of Finance Viengthong Siphandon and ADB representative Gil Hong Kim in Vientiane on August 7.
The ADB has previously provided funding to help Laos carry out socio-economic development projects, hold training courses on public financial management and build the headquarters for its Ministry of Finance.
With the above assistance, Laos has high hopes that by 2020, it will escape the label as a low developing country.-
They do have the money, its just for the old farts in charge. Fancy cars and trips abroads arn't cheap. Laos has been recieving foreign-aid(begging money) for almost 30 years now. So another million wouldn't make any difference except for the ones in charge. If the people of Laos wants prosperity, then get off your ass and do start making changes. Accept the reality of your country and find solutions to improve the situation your in.
