(KPL) The Lao Brewery Company signed an MOU with a Japanese company Proact International on 8 August to purchase a new technology to reduce its CO2 emission.
Such a purchase was in accordance with the policy of both the Party and government of Laos and the foreign stakeholders of this brewery. The Lao Brewery Company is doing all it could to be fuel-efficient and so reduce the usage of energy.
The Director of the Lao Brewery Company, Mr. Kisssana Vonsay, Head of the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Viengsavanh Duangsavanh, Executive Chairman of the Lao Brewery Company, officials of Proact International Company and officials concerned were at this MOU-signing ceremony.
This new technology would reduce the usage of energy by almost 30 percent, said Mr Kissana Vongsay. “This is a step in the right direction and this purchase is an introduction to the reduction in energy usage in the Lao industrial sector.” The Japanese ambassador, Katsuhiko OTAKI, said that this project was an important contribution to the protection of environment and the Kyoto Convention stressed on the need to reduce CO2 emission.
