Ford is structurally better. If you look at the frame of Toyota's trucks it is not solid like the Ford trucks. Toyota trucks have a L shaped, frame on the bottom for support, which is not solid, thus it will not hold up like a Ford in an event of a major crash. In addition, the L shaped, frame will "hook" the dust and dirt, which will eventually cost it to rust. Moreover, the cross bar on the Toyota trucks are welded to the L shaped, frame which is weaker than the Ford trucks which is embedded in the solid frame.
There are more safety features of Ford trucks that I don't have time to go through. As a note, Ford has been building trucks for over 90 years, thus they know how to build them. In addition, Ford trucks are the No. 1 selling truck around the world.
Very good when you have many goods and/or people to carry, especialy on bad roads.
Unfortunatly inapropriate to carry a single person in a "dense" city like Vientiane (big car= need place for parking+trafic jams, dangerous for motorbikes, heavy car=lot of gas = pollution and high cost of use)
Sadly, most of the people who are rich enough to buy such car live in the city. People who would need it the most are too poor to buy it.
Toyota Hilux , wow .. nice car but I think it is not suite me i rather ride my old bicycle to work, it is so convinence , take it easy to find a parking.

wowwwwwww!!!!! i didn't know that Vigo price is that high in Laos.. 1.6 mill baht = $46,928 U.S. Dollars($1=34.095bht exchange rate).. i think you can fully loaded extended cab of Toyota Tundra for little cheaper in U.S. i haven't really look at the Vigo specs.. can anyone out there tell me if Vigo carry the same size of engine as Tundra?? i'm not sure, i think Vigo is little smaller than the Tundra.
Vigo is designed and manufactured in Thailand using Thai spare parts and exported to worldwide. Price in Thailand started at 595,000 Baht (cab model with 2,500 cc diesel engine). You can get cheaper price, extra accessories and free insurance when buy from promotion events.
High selling price in Laos is resulted from heavy import tax which is likely over 100%
