Yes, I still recall more or less, but I can’t say my recollection is vivid.|Your English isn’t too bad comparing to many others hear as I had said earlier. I noticed some idiot replied to me on your behalf by using anonymous name and instead of saying none of your business, he said, “Non of your business” I have not ever heard of that vocabulary.

If you have passion in writing, then you should take English grammar since your vocabulary is not so bad at all. Actually, I prefer verbal communication to written communication because I speaking English on a daily basis.
Honestly, the Lao People Army’s English is not too bad either given that he is living in Laos and with the level of that proficiency, I am impressed.I do often see mistakes in his English, but he earns our admirations.Many people in this forum are a lot worse than him, so to be fair, I give him credit for that.As far as his susceptibility to the criticism of Laos by some members here, he will eventually get used to it.Living in the free world, we are entitled to free speech.

Sabaidee my fellow Laotian. Sadly, but I am already in my late 30s.I would tell you more about me if there is a way to send private reply like other forums.I don’t see the option available here. Maybe the mod should accomodate us. I am new to Samakhomlao website, but I’ve been participating elsewhere such as: Chinese Defense Discussion, Iranian Military, Sino Dong Feng, and Japanese websites. I don't know how long I plan to stay here. I like the site because it is our own Laotian community. By the way, I am not Vietnamese.

There are more mixed Lao-Viet in southern part of Laos than in the Central (Viengchan) and nothern part (Luang Prabang). Sort of make sense since major highway from Savan run straigh through Vietnam. Yes I am also mixed as well.
I'm Lao but not so sure whether I've the Mongolian blood or not. And I don't think I've any Chinese or Hun blood. I'm sure I've no vietnamese blood at all.

I would never do that unless you ask me otherwise and besides, my English is not any better than yours.I can’t repudiate my envy of your financial success the moment I learned about your yearly journey to Laos because only those with money would be able to do that. I still recall my trip to Laos in the summer of 1994 and it was a disaster, but some how I managed to enjoy it while I was there.Heading to Thakhek from Vientiane in a crowded private-owned transportation with constant stop in a dusty road made me feel miserable. I was totally exhausted, but that was what I had expected of Laos back then.I did not witness any affluent areas around the city of Thakhek besides a hotel nearby the bank of the Mekong river. Majority of people still did not have an indoor-flush down toilet; basically, they just defecated wherever they could I supposed. My main concern was public sanitation including food, water and all. Then I started to reminisce the unpleasant odor of sewage emanating around downtown Vientiane during a week of my stay there. So my family always cooked for me because I would not eat anywhere else, but my own home.Lots of things went through my mind at the time; seeing many indigent peasants, and young women carrying their emaciated children on the streets, I became dejected if not totally discouraged. Nonetheless, the joy of seeing my family helped me to overcome negativity and my crestfallenness. I still remember buying sandwiches from a middle-age woman out of sympathy not that I had any taste for it, so I gave her the money and took those sandwiches just to throw them away once I was out of her sight. In one occasion, I was approached by three beggars with their hands raised high above their heads pleading for mercy that they came from miles away in a county side, I did not hesitate to hand them some cash and they all thanked me in such a humble way. And I would never forget the beauty of our culture by just seeing their earnest hand gestures. I wanted to handshake them with respect, but once again, they raised their hands high above their heads before handshaking me. I hope to visit Laos again in a distant future because Laos will always be in my heart and mind.

did you know that before the revolution the vietnamese made up about 85% of thakek 's population, i remember my classmates more than half were vietnamese, they spoken vietnamese in the class and even with laotian friends, it was really annoying!!

students from thakek are a bit smarter than students from the other cities such as Mahaxay, xaybangfai,Nogbok, Boualapha . but the students from thakek are still not smart enought compared to the students from vientiane and Pakse~~
My english is bad at least I past(c). Who cares? Some doctors made below average while they studied in medical school . Some struggled to make A. Some even retake the same class more than one time; and some didn't past state board test at all. Sadly, they cannot practice. But people still call them a doctor. One more example, Albert Einstein made one c in his math class. But turn out his formula(E=mc2) is very useful and prominent around the world. Relax my friend! me too i m tai savan and we may know each other. when did you leave home town and where do you live now. me, i live in a north of seattle, wa county. my name is mosphena and used to lived in barn rattanarangsy, later were divided to smaller barns. my was called barn thongngon. if you remember ecole pascale, by longkong creek/river. i left town in 1976 for med. faculty VTE and left VTE, kicking dirt around in 1978. stopping to live as i said at north seattle in 1999. tell more about yourself plz !
