I always thought that Samakhomlao is an organization located in the United Sates and the website was created by Laotian Americans. Am I wrong?  I clicked on the profile of a member who goes by the username “samakhomlao”  and his location is in Vientiane.

idea  Yawn! If I got banned due to my free speech and fair criticism, I wouldn’t feel any regret.  I live in a free world that allows me to express my opinion and I have no problem saying as I see fit. Lao government is far from being impeccable and there is no government in this world can be precluded from mild to strong denigration by publics. I have participated in many high educated discussion forums and I have not been banned until today for speaking up my belief and yes, I stand my ground. I am not here to ingratiate myself to someone’s principles.  If it is right, I would say yes, but if it is wrong, don’t expect my acquiescence. It has always been my dream to see Laos become a less impoverished country. Until I see the increase in the average life-span for our people over there, I won’t be much happier and my heartfelt for them will remain unchanged. Undeniably, Laos should have opened her door to the world long time ago, but due to the stupidity of their government, it had caused so much delay in getting the country developed and the lost was so huge to recover. Nonetheless, they finally woke up to the reality that their deprivation was so enormous and to continue shutting the door would be a complete disaster for all our Laotian people. Now, it’s a matter of finding the solution and learns from past mistakes; accepting criticism and not just praise. Corruption must not go unpunished. Any corrupted officials should be brought to trial under proper jurisdiction system by giving full authority to the court and only the court can adjudicate any necessary sentences; otherwise, Laos will suffer much more in a long run.

I edited the post to increase the font size so it is easier to read. Just in case anyone here cares to read it.

Hey ai BruceLao, is that from your new book or what ?

i am just 99 yrs young and don't understand much of things, do you think of any government want their country to be poor ?  the above stated, looks like you get it from the american way of thinking.  all of what you said, are right, but it could not be applied to our country.  to govern a family is not easy tast, i would not imagine to govern the country. i never command more ppl than 50. that were only in a short eriod of time. i mean when i produced a film, i was their boss for just in the short of time, that is all in my experience.

if you don't mind would you share what kind of company and how many emplyees are under your management?

if you are governor or a state representative, i would down my hate.

Just a webpage and a forum to promote Laos PDR. Mostly Laos PDR agenda. You know instead of the worship of Kim Jung Il, it is a woship of Laos PDR small but elites group of people that control everything in the country.

Another thing, I don't think the person or people that created this webpage/forum are even Khon Lao. Maybe there are people that friend of the Admin that is Khon Lao. Just a guess.

One last note.
I am sure these poeple are located in either Australia or maybe New Zealand.

Ok my Laotian brother. I will try to answer your questions as much as I possibly can. And I also assume you meant to tell me that you are 19 years old. Correct? It is absolutely true that no government would want to see their country to be poor and I don’t think any of us wants to be poor either. But with education, hard work, perseverance, determination, usually help us to reach our goals; as you know, laziness takes you nowhere. If governing a population less than 7 million is considered a complicated task, then what about other successful countries with huge populations comparing to Laos? Would that ever cross your mind? As I had said numerous times, it takes people with an IQ95s to govern a country in order to achieve full potential of advancement, and development. Do you know that Laos has lived under dire poverty for centuries? Obviously, there has to be something wrong right? Didn’t Laos just learn how to build toilets in the mid-90s? What’s that tell you? Do we have any shame? Does Laos know how to make a toilet paper yet? It’s heartbreaking for me every time I think about our mother land. You also asked me what I do for a living; I used to work as an assistant to financial controller for a private company, and after 5 years of my employment, the company relocated somewhere else, and I was given the choice to move with them, but I decided not to. I am now working for a county government.

It is not easy trying to understand your English, but at least I had tried. You should take it as an honor that I even replied to you. I am working for county government agency which in Laos, it's called "Kompaxasongkor"
I strongly advise you to take more ESL classes provided that English is your second language. I also doubt you have a personal computer at home based on the time that it took you to eventully respond to me. And I won't be surprised if it will take you another day or two to hear from you again. How do you have access to chat online? Do you go to a coffee shop, a library and wait in line?

Looking at this article, I have a headache. The way he writes doesn't follow the Western style. Hard to find where is a topic sentense; where is the supported sentense or evidences suppoted the claim and where is the conclusion.

Like this writing style in Laos they call "Wao Beb Nam Tuam Tong". He seems to have a lot of free time. Probably he has nothing to do or he is unemployed, I guess.

FYI: His databases about Laos are very outdated. Lots of thing now are made in Laos since Laos has open to the world. There are lots of factories in Laos such steel, cement, garment, beer and so on, to say nothing of toillet paper. Now travelling to Thakek is just 2-3 hours, but not 1 day as he said.

Yes, I do agree with Mr. 2cent that it is easy said than done. Everything cannot be solved over night, no doubt. But having said that frankly I can say that now in Laos is much more better than before 1975, if not 100 times, but not less than 99 times for sure.

Yes, admittedly there is not everything perfect in Laos. Lao government always accepts the reality that Lao government authorities have to improve themseves in terms of their performances. There are lots of good, but still have some bad corrupted authorities. But compared with the time before 1975 , now there are lots of improvements, say corruption for instance, now say about 15% of authorities, but before 1975- 75% if not more, I know for sure. I was a student activist from 1973-1975 in Pakse.

Yes, one can have their own opinion, no doubt. For my part, I really support the current Lao goverment policy, at least peace and stability in Laos, which I have no doubt that all Lao people in Laos want to have forever.

Sorry if I have hurt someone, I just wanted to tell a truth. "Often happened a stupid person always likes to show off that he is so clever", my dad taught me when I was youang boy.

Regards,
...

You are such an idiot. I simply replied to the guy who asked me basic questions. I did not write an article as you claimed. It is not my fault that you are pathetically unable to differentiate a simple discussion and an actual essay which I had done it numerous times when I was in college. I am laughing at your pedantic inanity and shamefully your English is comparable to ESL student. Are you even aware of that? There is no such thing as “supported sentence” It’s called “Supporting Details, Topic Sentence and Thesis Statement” Dimwit!
I always admitted on my other posts that my knowledge of Laos was limited and my last trip to Laos was in the summer of 1994. If you want to show off your English to members here, please go take some more ESL classes first. Learn basic grammar, vocabularies, and punctuations then come back with a different username instead of anonymous. Correction (1): Hard to find where a topic sentence is.Correction (2): Where are the supporting details and evidence to support the claim? And where is the conclusion? Correction (3) Lots of things now are made in Laos since Laos has opened to the world.Corrections (4) there are factories in Laos such as:Correction (5) Yes, I admitted that not everything is perfect in Laos.Furthermore, you have too many misspelled words and excessive use of the same vocabulary. Next time, don’t be too sensitive when people mention about Laos. There is a difference between criticism and disappointment. I am proud to be Laotian American.

Oh, poor dimwit. Is it you agian? Did I hurt your feeling? You can't take anything that deems negative about Laos. Can you? Go take ESL classes so we can talk some more ok. Your English is not even close to a minimum requirement to have a basic communication. I repost my corrections for you.

thank you sir for your pation, i know my english is bad, but would like to share my opinion and from time to time wanna chat with my countrymen and women. for the advice, i very appriciate it, but i m very poor, no money and time to go to school. have kid to feed and roof to fix.  i said it before, that to manage a family is hard job for me and couldn't imagine to govern the country.
for your question how i get the access to the net, the answer is just clicking the mouse, other than that don't know.
remember when you said of using the internet at the coffeeshop, ppl there charged me too much at the exotic market in honolulu, i don't use it anymore. at home is cheap, pay $20/mo i get fiber optic connection and digital on cable. BTW in my area at most of the coffeshops WiFi is free.

once again many thank for your advice.

To answer all of your questions,
I am 100% Lao, and I am now studying in Japan.
I have never been to America before, and this website has nothing to do with the organization of Lao people in america. In fact, it is the ideal place for all Lao people in any parts of the world to come, meet and share information about the latest news in Laos.

Since this is my website, I have full right to delete or ban anyone who  against the rule of Samakomlao website, especially those who claim that they are from a free speech world. There are dozen of Lao websites on the internet that you can say bad things to the government, but I don't want this website to be that kind of place, so please avoid any messages or comments that may cause harm to other person, or this website.

Regards,

Samamkomlao webmaster

So you are acting as a moderator and administrator at the same time. But Jesus! I merely asked where the IP location is and who created it.  I am sure the members are fully aware of your exclusive rights to ban people who break the rules, but by simply saying that I am from the free world, you would consider banning too? Actually, many websites provide latest news about Laos if we want to know what’s happening, but my primary reason to come here is to have discussions with our Lao people. We might be able to learn something from each other.  I hope you retain moral sense before banning anybody here and thank you for granting us this privilege. Regards,

 Bruce,

This place here is to promote Muang Laos PDR, its government and its agenda.

This is not a place to promote and discuss all things that is Lao which to me include all Khone Lao, Communist supporters, Royalists, and Lao in exile.

This place and most of its members hate free speech and really hate to the extreme Lao in exile like us. They are against it. I am not talking about the free speech on personal attack on members of the forum or government officials, which I agree that is wrong.

Here is a free speech I am talking about, I will give you and example. If Laos PDR government decided to award Vietnam to build 20 dams and if you say hey that will destroy the forest and displaced the people, you will be marked as hater and being negative. If Laos government own 10% of a business venture and you say that is stupid deal, you will be marked as hater and being negative. If you say those tourists in Luang Prabang will destroy the beuty and historical value of the city, you will be marked as hater and being negative.

Read all my posts and replies. That basically what I do here and why they hate me here. Sometime Laos PDR and khone Lao love money more than anything else. They want so much to have first world status they will do anything to get it. Even destroy a little bit of Muang Laos.

One of the senior member here even said it is a sacrifice for the advancement/progress of Muang Laos. I disagree with that view. I am not going to give up my integrity just to have the luxury like my neighbor. Instead, I am going to work for it.

It’s no wonder why the Moderator Guru overtly stated his rhetoric and his message is probably meant for you more than other members, lol. I have not seen any of my posts got deleted. So, I assume that he has some tolerance more or less. But they can’t expect me to remain silent in here. I highly value freedom of expression; if it is black I would not hesitate to say it’s black and I won’t be forced to say it’s white. It is unfortunate that they dislike you so much when indeed, you simply voice your opinions. To be honest with you, I could careless who is in power in Laos. I just want to see our people escape from poverty.  I have families living there and occasionally I would send them some money.

I do share some of your concerns and I hope the news about the influx of 50,000 Chinese into Laos is not true as I had stated in my other posts if you read them.  The Chinese in due time no doubt, will infiltrate inside high ranking government positions and soon they will have sufficient control of the country by using proxies from within as the most successful method eventually leads to discrimination, relegation, and subjugation as they have done it in other countries.  Our people will end up working for them and live under their mercy. But there is a way to counter that as I already explained in my other post. I won’t repeat it again. By the way, if you care to know, I myself have more than 25% of Chinese blood in me.

I hope you fathom that Laos has so much deprivations and the government does not have much choice but to negotiate from the weak position. I am sure they all want the best for the country; therefore, some sacrifices are deemed necessary to extricate our people from poverty. You need to be a little considerate towards Laotian government too at time.  Our people have suffered long enough and it’s about time to do something now. As an old saying go, “No pain no gain” I don’t give a crap about communist agenda, or propaganda in here. I just want to see our people to have access to basic needs like other citizens in the world. Many of them did not get to live longer than 56 years of age. It is pretty sad and heartbreaking. I hope Laos imitates what Thailand did with first-generation Chinese to get their loyalty and assimilation into the society.

Talk to you again soon.
