My take on the movie "Sabaidee Louangprabang

I received my movie of Louangprabang today. It came in 2 discs and I did not regret a bit. I watched from the beginning to the end, but I could not deny that it was the most boring movie I had ever seen.  If there is another Lao movie coming out, I will definitely order it again because it is from my Laotian people.

Damn it. Unbelievable when he said it's the most boring movie he has ever seen. He didn't realize it that this is a Lao-Thai movie, jointly produced by both Lao-Thai peoples.

Even Thais like this movie not because of Ananda but the charming of Khamly and the beautiful scenarios.  The only complaint from Thais is we wanted to see LaungPrabang more.

no one can deny that this movie is the most boring ever seen, frankly speaking I really love to support Lao movie or actor or actress... but it was kind of disappointed with the story line and the ending is really unexpected. Nothing much going on during the entire movie... no romantic scene, no sad moment, no action where the love of them are initiated...

Sabaidee . . . Luang Prabang isn't about a love story yet. The producer doesn't want Lao girl to fall in love with a Thai boy so easily and so quick. It takes time to initiate a relationship. Yes, I gree with the audience that the movie didn't have more scenes of Luang Prabang, the monks and the temples. I hope there will be the second part of this movie in the near future.

We can’t expect much from a very low budget film and the inexperienced actors.  That’s why we Laotian need to support our people.  I strongly urge every one of you to order the CD.  We spend more on a six-pack Heineken and the two discs only cost $8.00 dollars. I did not order Sabaidee Louangprabang with high expectation of it.  Assuming 10,000 Laotians are willing to show their generosities, that would equal to $80,000 ($8.00 x 10,000) and I know we have a big population of Laotian oversea.

It is o.k. with me. It is a subtle and gentle Lao-Thai story. I don't like to watch too explicit love and action story where the main actor hugs, kisses and makes love with the actress or to show violent action or a shooting, killing, fighting like in the Thai movies. I like a Lao gentle side movie with real Lao tradition with cute and cool Lao love story.

Hey! I am envious! I wanna have a copy of that movie too. here did you get it or oredr it from - and how much? I was able to watch that movie when I was holidaying in Bangkok. It is not the most compelling stories I have watched and the story is feather light, but I kinda like the way they incorporate those beautiful places in Laos with the story.
