i think, it is transfering, coz laos export electricity to neighboring country,
and use the closiest substation to transfer back to laos, coz laos doesn't
have from north to south and east to west wired.

i may mistaken

Luangnamtha province import from Yunan electricity power ,china
thakek 's electricity import from Nakhompanom (thailand)
we export the electricity to the neighboring countries and meanwhile we import as well,
Namthurn 2 hydro power protect will be completed in the end of 2009 and 90 % will be sold to thailand and 10% will be contributing in Laos, especially in thakek and other provinces that import the electricity from aboard.

Laos wont buy or import the electricity from neighboring countries after Namturn 2 project completed and many dams still under construction~~~

Cheer LAO

It's imposible that Thakek imports electricity from Thailand. There is Theun Hinboon Hydropower plant in Khammouane province.

But I do agree that Savannakhet still imports electricity from Thailand for time being for gold mine project in Sepon.
