Thank the mod for telling some people who like to post in Lao Language. I am sure there are non-Laotian passersby visiting the site and I want them to know that we Lao people do have literacy in English just like any other races. I certainly don’t have any inferiority complex being Laotian, but some people in the site just can’t get over their insecurity whining about my English is not appropriate for ordinary Lao people; accusing me of showing off , blah, blah. I personally believe that every Laotians has the right to be exposed to any levels of English, but by their logics, Lao people should be confined in a 5^th grade vocabulary.

I don’t see how we are going to ever advance in any field if we have this kind of mentality. When I am not lazy, I made some corrections for our members here. Though my very own education is not above a mediocre level, but I can effectively communicate in both writing and speaking because English is part of my life that I use every day. When I think, I think in English and when I dream, I dream in English.

As you can see, they would post as anonymous users in order to start the flame then begin trolling pathetically.

You should print it and keep it right by your PC so you can refer to it every time before you post anything from now on.Lol…. biggrin

Dear visitors,

I think it is time to set up rules and regulations for Samakomlao website, so that all visitors can have guidelines to follow and not to break the rules.

Here are some rules that I am now thinking of.

1) Do not use impolite words or phrases in the webboard, shout box, quick shout, etc...of Samakomao website.

2) Do not use Samakomlao as a place to attack the government (or 'the Lao government' if you wish to be more specific) or a person you dislike.

3) Do not post nude or pornographic photos, or add links to pornography sites on Samakomlao website

4) Do not post sensitive topics that may cause harm or trouble to other people/organizations/countries/religions, etc...

5) Do not post topics that are very personal to the main webboard. The topics that are very personal, and have no benefit to the majority of the webboard users, should be posted in the sub webboards, such as the Free message board.

6) Do not post the title in Lao or Thai language in the main webboard. If you want to post topics in Lao, go to the Pasalao webboard. English and Lao are the official languages for Samakomlao website

7) Do not post links trying to promote your own website on Samakomlao website. You can promote your website by posting the latest updates you have on your website and the links should link directly to the topic, not the main pages.

8) Please do help Samakomlao to post news, photos, links, etc, that you think make good topics for discussion and will benefit the majority of the users. Please also help us find photos or related items that illustrate the news.

8) Users who break the rules and regulations of Samakomlao website will be warned twice, if such users still do not obey the rules, he/she shall be banned permanently.

If you can think of other rules and regulations that you think I should add to the list, please post them here.

Your kind contributions to and support for this website will make our Samakomlao become bigger and stronger. I do try my best to make this place a better place for all.

Why did you bring SeeHarHed into this? It was me who laughed ok and my laughter was not at the rules, but because I was excited that the mod finally confirmed Samakomlao is officially for English. That means a starving monkey like you won't cuss at people in Lao Language; just because you go by anonymous poster, does not mean I don’t recognize who you are.

since 2006. i have seen every things that you posted here. i think you

Oh! Thank you very much Mr or Ms real lao american. I am really appreciate your comment. Your action proves me that the real Lao American people are civilized. They still keep our good Lao culture and love Lao people, unlike someone here who only tries to look down on Lao culture, and Lao people as well.

Please I don't get me wrong. He can stay on if he likes, but he has to change his beviour, I suppose. That is only what I or most of Samakom visitors asked for.

PS: His name is not bluce, but Brucelaoman. I am fraid he won't know that we ask him. So I have to remind it again, he seems to be like a person who loves a straight word.

I got a feeling that someone try to make this website urgly or make people boring of this website. They use bad words or comment rudely.

Yes, our people still behave like this. No surprise that democracy cannot be applied in Laos for time being. We Lao people are mainly low educated and on top of that we still have a lot of enemies in every corner.

This is so funny. I have been visiting Samakomlao for quite sometime but this is the first time I dare to read the rules. and look what I found. Violation of the rules in the rules and regulations thread itself.

So what are these rules for if its already broken here?
