Why the buses in Laos play only Thai song ?

I used to travel from Champasak to Vientiane, and from Vientiane to Luang prabang, the bus drivers, all played only Thai morlum, or Thai music sting.
My question is, why they don't open Lao songs? confused

May be because Lao bus drivers recorded only Esan Mohlam singings and Esan Countryside songs.

hahahhaha Thank You for posting this video, reminds me of the bus I took down to Savanhnakhet.  All the windows was open, music was blasting, people screaming(talking) to each other really loud and constant honking by the bus driver.  LOL!!!!  What a lovely bus ride to the Southern part of Laos.  I had promised myself NEVER again take the bus to anywhere. hahhaha

khonthakek is right on the money. Esan is not much difference with Laos. They are Lao but Thai government just labled them "ISAN" so they don't think and the world don't think they are ethnis Lao. And it is working since we don't refer to them Lao in Thailand but call them Isan instead.

Another thing, I rather listen to those music than L-Zoe, LOG or those boys/girls band. I can't stand those music more than 1 songs nevermind a day of listening to it.

Lan Xang,

So? What you're saying is... you prefer O.G.(Old Guy) kind of music? Bor muk pheng wai loon?

The song on the video above is.. Tai Orrathai.

I don't see it as old versus new. I just like Lookthoong. The music tone is just more soothing. The lyric, singer, musical arangement, instruments, and production just way better.
