It was October the 1st 1949, the Chinese Communist under Mao Zedong defeated Kuomintang and 23 years later, China was accepted as a member of UN. We all know how much China wants Taiwan back, but if there is a war to regain the Island, the economy of Laos will also be affected to the extent, so we should pray for peace and for the sake of the land of one million elephants.
Taiwan is a renegade province according to the Chinese government, it must be brought back to the motherland preferably by peace, and the use of force is not ruled out nonetheless. The 1.3 billion people chauvinistically speaking, “To lose an inch of the land, they’d rather sacrifice millions of army in the battle field to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
I second that and totally concur, but please don't keep this away from me. Simply, I can't live without it, and hopefully you understand that my life would be meaningless.
The reunification will take place in due time and nothing we can do about it.
Why would anyone who grew up in democratic-capitalism Taiwan want to rejoin China. I think vast majority of us human being want to be control. We want other our run our live. My only conclusion.

Lan Xang, you aren’t quite wrong in that aspect and let me try to explain to you base on my limited purview regarding the affairs of China and Taiwan. Nonetheless, if a war breaks out in the strait, it will greatly affect the economy of Laotians beyond expectation. There are 3 groups in Taiwan: pro-independence, pro-unification and pro-status quo. The pro-independence are those newer generation in which they don’t want to have anything to do with China regardless of democratic China or not. The pro-unification are those who were born in the 40s, 50s and 60s, but many had already died and the ones that still alive are also aging. The pro-status quo are those who neither want unification nor independence.
Publicly, the US says it supports a peaceful unification between Taiwan and China, but realistically, the status “quo” is what US has enjoyed all along. There is no benefit for Washington if China and Taiwan become one country. I think you are aware of that. Washington’s policy of containing and fighting the expansion of communism had come to an end ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union. Though the People’s Republic of China is still regarded as a communist state but according to its foreign policy of noninterference in others’ internal affairs, poses a little or almost no threat to Washington militarily or ideologically. China’s way of doing business unlike the Soviet Union, demands no political allegiance or conformity, impose no will on others merely business only in its nature as I know of.
Our mission in the 21st century is more about fighting Islamic extremism and terrorism and requires different mechanism. I believe US will remain a dominant force throughout century; the Russians and the Chinese will be powerful enough to keep check and balance in the world affairs. My point is no more communism for us to fight.
why does china dislike other countries sell the weapon to Taiwan? what is the key of China to solve Taiwan's problem? Why is Taiwan unqualified for UN? Why does china want to solve the Taiwan's problem peacefully and at the same time ,can't promise for not using the Military forces?
what the hell are " Peace,Reunification ,one country two systems?

This is their internal affairs... we d rather not to talk about them... however... these questions may have answers...
Almost every countries in the world recognise only One-China Policy...even US its self... The Name of China mainland is People's Republic of China and the name of Taiwan previously was Republic of China....
1..Why does China dislike other countries sell the weapon to Taiwan.. because selling weapons to Taiwan means stronger military that Taiwan will have to deter China... 2. China may conduct welcoming and more economic engagement with Taiwan, by having direct fligt, investment...... 3. Because China is the permanent member of UN and has a Veto right to reject the most inportant Issue.... such as reject the admission of Taiwan as UN membership... and other P member of UN (Russia, French and Britain) will likely support China, because bigest trading partner is prevailed... 4. China wanted to solve Taiwan issue peacefully due to the fact War will not bring any benefit and just loss in term of People and Economy...however If Taiwan declare its Independence, China mainland will use force to protect their sovereignty and territorial intergrity....It is a general rule of a Country to protect their sovereignty and territorial intergrity, every country will do the same if it is happenned in that country...
I agree. Keep the Taiwanese away from a rule they don't want. Ay government should not force themselves or their mandate on a nation or people. China is big enough, and a lot of Chinese people are starving enough. Their government should concentrate on helping these people instead of setting their sights on a group that is progressing well on their own.
