Last week, Lao newspaper report the ban of allowing foreign countries to use Lao land for rubber plantation, because it is not benefit local people. Let's check this week news, and you will know that the report and regulation in Laos is not reliable.
Kuasa Siruko needs employing 2,000 people for planting rubber trees in Phin and Sepon

(KPL) Kuasa Siruko said it needed to employ almost 2,000 people to ensure in investing in planting rubber in two districts of Savannkhet province—Phin and Sepon.

The workers will be employed for planting and maintenance on a total plantation of 5,938 ha.

On average the demanding figure seems inadequate for the investment of the company as only one worker would work for every three hectares.
Le Thanh Hung, General Director of Lao Kuasa Siruko Joint-Venture, said last week that the company was clearing around 4,000 ha to achieve planting industrial trees on 3,000 ha in the coming year.

The company planted acacia and rubber trees on 700 ha last year and 2,000 ha so far this year.

At the end of last month the company held a meeting to discuss land clearance and the valuation of its project implementation in last year in the two districts. Governor of Savannakhet Mr. Vilayvanh Phomkhe was also present at the event.
