Back in the 40s, 50s girls, or women in America did not even hold hands in the public let alone kiss, but as a country got modernized, tradition and culture too got its evolution. It is just the way it is. If you think lao girls today like to behave like your grandmother who were born in the old day then you can dream on. My grandfather said he never know about mouth kissing in his time.
What is up with public display of affection in Laos now.
I don't remember seeing anyone doing this in public 30 years ago.
Not all modern stuff is good.
The girl looks decent but the guy look like khon khi yah and too boney. You might not see that 30 years ago but now it’s 21st century and the year is 2008 get used to it pal.
I don't think you need a permission, once your picture is on the internet everyone can just go ahead and get it. Otherwise, don't put anything on the internet, bcause everything is share online.
After I saw these pics, it made me not wanting to vote for her. She looks like a formal lady on stage, but on the other side she's not. By the way, she's only 17 and this act with her b-friend is not suitable for her age.

You will rarely find attractive Lao guys. But there are plenty of pretty Lao girls. But why?

Hey, that's not true! I think I'm very attractive.
jeez if she wants to kiss in public let her kiss in public
its not your choice to tell her not to
and what is it with you guys thinking lao tradition will dissappear
there are still people who follow them and some who dont
thats just life
I agree! Be happy she's not selling her body. There's a lot of young girls in Laos selling their bodies. Which is a lot worst.
We all have to remember that it's the 21st century we are living in now. Times change, people change, global society change, technologies change; and even sea level changes. But we are still who we are, just moving along with everything else around us. If we don't want Laos to change then we should just shield our country from the rest of the world. Forget about building it. Forget about driving cars. Just stick with cattles and buffalos as our way of transportation. Get rid of all the televisions in the country and just live in the past. You get what I'm saying. Just need to learn to accept it and appriciate that our country is moving forward. I know it's harder for the older generation to accept it because it's something new for them. Accept it or not, it's reality.
Before we jump into judgement we all need to look at ourselves. Look at the world with wide perspective. Imaging if we are those teenagers(I wish), we probably be doing the same thing. Just because something is not pleasing to your eyes doesn't mean it's wrong.

This is your opinion, ideas and man. Do you thing the society of the country must develop by accept the one that you think?

I wish some place in the Middle East and some Islamic countries allow this sort of thing. But they don't allow it. You can go to jail for doing such a thing. Some should them them it is 21th Century and allow it.
Seriously.....beeing modern we do not need to do this. Modesty is the key here.
lao culture is lao culture, it might be changed but in positive way not by kissing in public, and it has not any relation to technical development and in the other hand no ordinary lao girl would permit anyone posting her private picture on internet or she may be Mao yar like her boyfriend !
