PM to make first foreign trip to Laos : Kasit By The Nation
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva plans to make his first oversea visit to the neighboring country of Laos, Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya said Friday.
He told a group of Lao journalists this morning that the Thai leader will visit Laos next month to further strengthen their bilateral relations.
Kasit presided over the launching ceremony of a guidebook for journalists covering Thai-Lao relations. The guidebook is a joint project of Thai Journalists Association and Lao Journalists Associations to help journalists to avoid using words or phrases that could misunderstandings.
In the 1980's, bilateral relations were severely affected by Thai broadcasters, living in Northern Thailand, who often used words with dubious meaning in Laotian language.
