It's not a surprise though for laos people. Those my family food and I eat it all the time, when my parents baught them from the asian market and they make them a koi kung, za kung...etc. whatever they called in laos?
I saw they put alot of herbs and hot chilli pepers in it. Yeah, so I like it with some beer and hard liquor go along with it.
