Nhan Dan - An agreement on sports co-operation in 2009 between Vietnam and Laos was signed in Hanoi on February 16 by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh and President of the Lao National Sports Committee Phouthong Seng Akhom.

According to the deals, Vietnam will continue to help Laos build its National Sports Training Centre, phase II, including courts for volleyball, tennis, basketball, sepak takraw; a swimming pool and several supporting projects.

Besides, in preparation for the 25th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) in Laos, Vietnam will send to the neighbouring country eight coaches of shuttle****, karatedo, swimming, shooting, wushu, pencak silat and wrestling to train athletes in twelve months. Six-month training sessions for 100 athletes and coaches will also be organised.
