VIENTIANE, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- Authorities have said Laos will be ready to welcome sports fans from around the world coming for the 25th Sea Games as over 20 luxurious hotels with around 900 bedrooms are under construction and expect to be completed as planned.

The hotels will provide service for athletes and guests who attend the upcoming sports event, Lao News Agency (KPL) has said, citing Vientiane Vice Mayor Somvandy Nathavong.

Early this month, the Vientiane Committee for Accommodation, Food, Decoration and Tourism completed its survey on hotels, guesthouses, restaurants and tourism sites to accommodate athletes and provide service for tourists during Sea Games.

At present, there are 88 hotels with 3,368 bedrooms, 171 guesthouses with 2,725 bedrooms and 69 international standard restaurants in Vientiane Capital are ready to welcome international tourists.

The committee has signed contracts with all hotels and restaurants on using coupons in order to make athletes' staying in the country duing the games as much comfortable as possible. In addition, it will publish accommodation manuals for new arrivals.
