When the Farang gets drunk of high off some drug he likes to do crazy and wild things like swing off of trees like a monkey or go down a zip line like James Bond 007. It's also to show off in front of his/her friends.
If you don't want Falangs to have fun while they visit Laos then they will just sit, eat and drink and watch television all day long. Falangs like to have fun. What is wrong with that?
We can do things like this in America no problem. Kids out in the country have swings they made from trees and jump into the river all the time. Remember that most inovative and cool things come from America. America is the best country in the world. It has the smartest people, the most beautiful, and most talented. It can accomplish this because it is a mix of many different people from many different countires. America is a land of opportunity and freedom. That is why a lot of people in Laos really want to come here to make money because they are so poor.
it's a great way to spend the day. it's fun and cheap.....actually...it's free. and there's ass and titties all over the place. it's just that some dumb lao person who can't think of anything other then sitting at home watching stupid thai tv shows are too dumb to see the advantage in something like this. poor you!
it goes like this, in the morning, float the river, get wasted on beer lao and make freinds, then go to the river bars at night and party like it's 1999. early morning, eat sandwiches and lotti, and pass out. that's the Vang Vieng Falang dream. and lao people profit from it. win win.
It's good thing that westerners could enjoy themselves with such very simple equipment like this, in the future we should built a high gliding equipment that everyone could enjoy in nam song river...it surely will attract more tourists.

That's OK as long as they don't harm anybody, they don't violate the law. They come to have fun among themselves, they spent $$ to bring incomes to the businesses in that area. But it's up to us. Lao autrority should keep eyes on making sure they are not going over limit. Have fun guys!
