why just Lao nork? you have something against them?

anyone who travels to Laos from overseas may bring swine flu (& other diseases) to Laos - including Lao nai returning from overseas travel/work/government visits/studies, tourists, businessmen & investors, visiting foreign officials, foreigners working in Laos, etc.

viruses don't care who you are. & sometimes they don't care whether you are human. if infected pigs & poultry are brought into Laos from other countries, they could also carry swine flu with them. (people are already scared that hand, foot & mouth disease could spread from livestock in Vietnam into Laos.)

for all we know, swine flu might already exist in Laos, just that it has not mutated into the dangerous strain found in Mexico...yet...

You know, I been roaming this site for awhile, and notice that a lot of posts are again Lao nork. Did we ever say, oh watch out Lao nai may bring bird flu to America? Or don't go to Laos because there is a bird flu outbreak. I think a lot of the Lao nai are jealous. I don't know why, we work our ass out over here to have what we have. Is not like we are sitting on a pile of money because we are in America. Don't hate because we go to Laos and spend money like a king. Gotta enjoy life since all we do is work.

I agree and you know why it is so hard for lao nai to get their visa approve when they want to visit us? because when they get here and after their visa expire they don't go back home 99 percent of them stay.

I don't think Laos should have to worry that much about outbreak of swine flu. Well, from what I've read - I highly doubt that Laos will be effect by this flu. Those people that came back from Mexico will have high chances of catching the swine flu. When is the last time that flights to Laos or Thailand connect in Mexico? NONE!!! So, don't get too excited about pointing fingers to "Lao Nork" will be bring the flu. I think more people had died from "bird flu" around Asia then this current flu.

Laos has well-established, high traffic air linkages with the US , so carriers of the virus may unsuspectingly infect other people with swine flu.
Experts believe the virus can spread via human-to-human transmission.
Civil Aviation Department Director General Yakua Lopangkao said officials at Wattay International Airport were waiting for an order from the Ministry of Health regarding measures to prevent the virus.
“I think that we need to do something at the airport now as some passengers are arriving from America ,” he said.
Health officials said people could catch swine flu through direct contact with pigs, but not from eating pork. Symptoms included high fever, body aches, coughing, and a runny nose.
According to a report from the Associated Press yesterday, more than 100 people in Mexico are believed to have died from the new flu and more than 1,600 have fallen ill.
This has caused the country to close public institutions such as schools.
Twenty people have fallen ill in the United States and six in Canada . This has caused the US to declare a public health emergency.
China and Russia have introduced plans to put anyone with symptoms of the deadly virus under quarantine.
Singapore began using thermal scanners on Sunday at Changi International Airport to check passengers with fever arriving from the United States .
The WHO has warned countries around the world to be alert to the risk of swine flu outbreaks, asking them to step up health surveillance and to continue close monitoring of the situation.

Lao don't kiss when we meet up, Normally we don't shake hands when we meet some new friend, We don't hug and even carry the stranger's hands
as long as we wash our hands with soap after return home, we will prevent the swine, normal flu and over viruses .
Lao people or foreigner visit laos at this period , it is neccessary to check up carefully before entry to the Lao PDR

If you are sick, I suggest just stay at home don't spread your flu to other. of course when u get fever u must go to hospital .

You are so out of date, please check the information before put the topic. Swine Flu is first from Korea before it traveled to Mexico by Koreans. Now it spreads very badly in South Korea. You're better becareful the same Asia.

If Lao government doesn't allow Lao Nork to go to Laos, Lao Nork can't go. But Laos still be inflicted by Swine flu, HIV/Aids and Bird flu and other diseases when other foreigners go to Laos.
