The picture is of a female cow having baby cow. The baby cow is call a calf.
You are speaking of baby buffalo I would think they are call a calf as well.

They call it "Nong Khwai, not nong khouy. Khwai and khouy is not the same.

I ate it before, nothing wrong with it. The only thing is not that an easy to find them. I think most of the laos people are, even viet or chinese they love them as well as thai esan. Are you very picky of what you eating? Does that food make you look bad when you eat it? Remember, if you are really khon lao then nothing surprise of what you eat?
