I think foreign news care about human right.
Everyone should be treated fairly, even the last minutes before they die.

My admiration for your liberalism and your hindsight and I am glad that we actually have a person like this from Laos.

That is the reason why Laos has not ratified or signed the treaty on International Covenant on Civil-Political Rights. sorrow.gifsorrow.gif They need to hand her to British authority after the guilty or non-guilty verdict stipulating that she can never enter Laos again.  I am embarrassed of my motherland’s government.  This Nigerian Negro destroys all the hard work to project Laotian image. The government skillfully uses Buddhism as an appealing method to impress the outside world how graceful they are but this brutal treatment of prisoners clearly explains otherwise.  It can be ten times worse if you are a political prisoner. Amen!BruceLaoMan

what they are talking is about JAIL not HOME. Please educated people understand and identify it clearly. If the JAIL is like HOME, I think many people want to be there.

KAY DANES first hit news headlines when she and her husband Kerry were arrested in Laos on trumped-up charges of jewel smuggling just before Christmas, 2000. They received a Presidential pardon and were released 10 months later after enduring terrible conditions and torture

Kay Dane is a big mouthed.    We let her go for good, for humanity.   In return, she blaaah  blaaaah.   I think this black lady will do the same when she's out of Laos.   I think they should be locked in prison for life in Laos.

Maybe that is why there is so few crime in Laos! Keep the prisons like they are, if you are not doing anything wrong, you dont' have to worry about it. While it is sad if an innocent person gets thrown in there, I suppose that there will have to be sacrifices to benefit the greater good of the community.

Definitely, it is safe to say that we Lao people are Buddhists. We consider a prison as a hell, which is according to dictionary an extremely unpleasant or difficult place.

So, I do support the idea that we have such condition in jail. Otherwise, bad people will think there is no hell at all. biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I wonder if the sitution is reversed would anyone be curious or at the least make such a big deal out of this!  If a lao girl is supposedly caught with drugs and sent to prison elsewhere, would we be even care enough to quarrel over.  Or if this girl is caught in her own country would that make a big difference in Nigeria.  She be in the damn jail too. I hate that now Laos is given a bad reputation over this incident.  This is not a matter of international crisis.  It's the fact that this damn girl smuggled drugs into Laos and she was caught and was jailed!  She shoudn't have done it in the first place. It's not just Laos, whether singapore, japan, iraq, iran,kuwait...etc...if you do something illegal, you're going to pay for it!  That is why Laos doesn't have a lot of crime, because we don't put up with the bullcrap like the U.S or UK prison systems. Please send her back to the UK so she stay in her so called comfortable jail. We don't want her here anyways.  All of the news saying how bad Laos is...how about broadcast to the whole damn world that there are still many millions of UXO killing and injuring so many children and the people of Laos everyday! many are left with no arms, hands or legs!!! the children suffers dailyknowing that they don't have a normal childhood, Because of the actions left by the Americans! I know that doesn't get enough coverage in the western media! BROADCAST that!!! I'll wait and see it on TV!!!

Laos welcomes all of tourists from every part of the word, but don't bring contraband into my homeland. if you want to come and see all the pretty waterfalls, majestic rivers and the wonderful Luang Prabang, you will not be disappointed! Because Laos is a peaceful and wonderful country.

Love Laos!biggrinbiggrinsmile

I believe this black girl will be hang if she was arrested in Singapour as they hanged australian or any other white people who did not respect Singapour Law. Western media and western countries are like that, they always think Asian countries are inferior than their country, so the same with american bombs killing lao or viet or cambodian, are not important, it is Double Standard if you like, or Hypocrist, but I believe LAOS should stand firm with its LAW.

Stop using Buddha as an excuse for us Lao. We can't even respect Sin Ha. there is only crap in our Lao mind. If there are Lao who have buddhu in their mind and their heart then Laos shouldn't have no corruption, no robberies, no prostitutions etc.....
Stop pretend to be buddhist Junky Lao. Please don't bring your dirty ass to Buddha

Kay is a human, she have every right to let the world know what happen to her, good or bad let the world make the decision. Not because we can't talk in Laos  so that deosn't mean that no one can't talk out of Laos. Remember all the rich countries have the freedom of speach. And Laos have no Free speach so we Laos is the poorest country in the world. Just Think my friend. USA, Canada, France, Germany. UK, Australia, Japan etc.. have free speach they don't beg for money. Laos always beg for money no matter which system, because no free speach.

Don't you know how come do you think his ass is shiny....not sinny.nononobiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

it is prison, fpr pete's sake... did people with half a brain really expect a hotel suite? "conditions are primitive. there's no hot or cold shower... it is very hot,"  she says. she must expect a prison cell with the amenities of a posh vegas hotel. hahahaha. she is as dumb as she looks. what did she want in there - an AC? a lazyboy couch? cable tv? i wonder which prison in the world did she see any of these inanities she mentioned.

when you are a prisoner, several liberties and comfort are stripped off along with your freedom. the moral of the story is not to commit crime - or not to get caught!
