VIENTIANE, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Lao government decided to install more than 100 surveillance cameras across Vientiane Capital in order to cope with criminal problem and accident on the road, in preparation for the SEA Games, Lao news agency (KPL) reported Friday.

Traffic Police Office of Vientiane Capital disclosed Thursday that it would cooperate with sectors concerned to increase the alert measures by installing the surveillance cameras in each important point across Vientiane Capital.

Violating the regulations of traffic on the road including criminal cases had been on the increase lately, and the police sometimes could not solve the problems quickly police officials do not have modern equipment to enable them to carry out their duties smoothly, according sources from the Traffic Light Police Office.

Initially, surveillance cameras were to be installed only at important places, such as markets, traffic lights, victory gate, Thathluang stupa, crowded places and new stadium for SEA Games.

wink Wow they are really serious about security. I hope who ever will be sitting in front of the monitor will not be sleeping and will immediately jump into action when he sees something wrong... Otherwise camera would be useless.

They talked about installing cameras since last year.  I guess they haven't done it yet?  Perhaps, they are waiting for the chinese or korean give them a lending hands?

example  :  all   airport  in laos,     all  bus  station  in  laos, all  the  banks in laos ,


all  Laos department, laos ministry, all  foreigner  ambassy
