Government must spend money for that, please don't just wait the foreign aids only






VIENTIANE, July 27 (Bernama) -- Print and electronic media in Laos has been asked to do more for A/H1N1 influenza campaign to ensure the public are properly informed about the virus, Lao news agency (KPL) reported Monday.

The statement was released at the meeting to upgrade the knowledge on influenza Pandemic H1N1 2009 for Radio and Television Media held at the Done Chanh Palace here.

The meeting held to discuss how media representatives, especially radio and television programme presenters, and public health officials could better coordinate and co-operate to reach out to communities.

It was important to educate people about preventive measures and ensure that they do not panic about the situation. During the meeting, participants accorded that information should be immediately sent to media outlets so that it could be publicized in a timely fashion.
