Laos needs foreign aid $60 million dollars within 4 years to alleviate poverty

Is there any related article that explains why the requested funding support was not met? I was wondering whether its the lost of confidence over how the government is spending the funds or the lack of transparency or proof that shows the funds really reach the intended beneficiaries caused the supporters to turn their back or reduce the aid.

Sorry but I don’t have any article at the moment. However, sixty million dollars is quite a bit of money. I am assuming that Laos has not been showing significant progress in preventing the spread of opium. You really have to prove to them that you are somewhat eliminate more than half of opium growers. They won’t just keep giving you money without appropriate utilization of their provided funding.

I heard about the fund many years ago but never saw it, I even forgot who is the donnor and neither don't know the amount of it and where it could be found ? 2 years ago , a friend of mine asked me about the fund , he 'd liked to borrow some money to rooffing the school of his village, as I didn't know how to help him, I advised him to go to the finance ministry ... two days later he told me that the fund was transfered to the bank of the Lao PDR ... good I have friends there I said, after some calls I found out that no one know about the fund. so, from that day I stopped thinking about the fund that gave nothing to poor people (as I 'm aware, if i'm wrong, I apologize !)

dude... this is saddd all the money is going no where accept into the pockets of some stupid people

we must eradicate drug cultivation. durgs is one of the main root of a bad society and will most likely hinder growth in our country.

i dont know much about getting rid of opium but 60 mill should be enough????
im sure it doesnt cost that much to eliminate opium growing.
